My dog went through a big sock stealing phase, too, until I started hiding them all from her. Then she started chewing up the crotches of all my pants, until I hid those from her, too.

LOL One of my cats brings socks out all the time. He places them on the floor and sings too them. I think they're offerings - sort of like bringing me a freshly caught mouse. Rascal is fifteen now so I forgive him not having the legs to catch real ones.
