View Out My Window: Morning Glories Waving Hello
(I think one might be flipping me the bird, but I can't be sure.)
This is the view across the alley from the cute little Airbnb place I rented in Long Beach while I'm attending SPSP, the annual Society for Personality and Social Psychology conference.
The big challenge today comes tonight -- driving home at a time when I won't encounter stop-'n'-go traffic on the 405 (making me less likely to get carsick)...but while not driving after dark, which also makes me more prone to getting carsick! (Getting this checked out in March, after I get through the health care gatekeeper visit so I can get a referral to an otolaryngologist to look for rocks in my head and other vestibular issues.)
Our whole megapolis reeks of Night Blooming Jasmine this week.
It's the Axe Body Spray of our semi-arid desert climate... The flora is like a desperately slutty teenager signalling fertility.

Is the 405 *ever* not stop-and-go?
I live 500 miles away, and even I know to get off and take Sepulveda Blvd. the whole way instead.

The view out my window is snow. And I've had to deal with the 405 a couple times myself, both at bad times. I'm with JD: Are there times when it's not so bad?

405 is awesome in my area. I mean as long as it's not during rush hour or going too North into LA it's pretty much always fast.
I also go in the opposite direction of traffic during rush hour. Aren't y'all jealous?

Oh and I went to LA last week.
Fuck your parking ticket vultures.
Ppen at February 28, 2015 11:33 AM
I drove here (from Venice to Long Beach) at two minutes to seven on Thursday and made it here without stop-and-go...on the south-bound side. The north-bound side was stop-and-go for miles and miles.
And Ppen, I'm with you there!

I've been in decent traffic on the 405, on one of my infrequent visits to LA.
Of course, it WAS at 3 in the morning on a Sunday. . .

Made the mistake of taking the 405 from LAX to UCLA once. Never again.
Interesting side note, up here it's not "the" 580, it's 580.
