Scott Johnson write at Powerline about the "Minesota men" (empahsis mine):
Reading the criminal complaint and underlying affidavit, I was struck by how “connected” the six men were to local schools and jobs. They were “connected” right up until the moment they weren’t. The Star Tribune noted this aspect of the case in the article “Minneapolis men facing ISIL-linked terrorism charges belie stereotypes.” I was also struck by the mysterious appearance of cash to pay for the travel each of the six planned to Syria.
In the case of Guled Omar, the travel expenses were to be defrayed in part by taxpayers. The affidavit reveals: “Bank records obtained show that OMAR withdrew $5,000 in cash from his federal educational financial aid debit card in the weeks leading up to his attempted departure.” It’s a striking fact I haven’t seen noted or have overlooked in news of the charges.
I remember back in the day when some fellow students took out an education loan and used the money for a spring break trip to Europe. I thought that was...shady. But in theory, they eventually paid it back.
Thus military horses will never return in a big way but until someone comes up with a robotic replacement that can equal all the capabilities of horses and mules you will always have to be prepared to use these animals in situations where hooves outperform machines.
“This audit report contains nine material weaknesses, eight significant deficiencies in internal controls and six instances of noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations,” the report says. “These weaknesses were due to an inability to establish a compliant control environment, implement adequate financial accounting systems, retain key financial management staff and identify appropriate accounting principles.”
Then again, doing this will reduce the opportunities for graft.

And in the "I'll believe it is a crisis when they start acting like it is a crisis" category:
Obama’s Paris jaunt will send more CO2 into the atmosphere than 31 American homes‘ energy usage for an entire year. The president’s trip is equivalent to burning 368,331 pounds of coal or 797 barrels of oil, according to the Environmental Protection Agency’s carbon footprint calculator.
Just one leg of the president’s Sunday trip to Paris emitted 189 tons of CO2 after travelling 3,855 miles and burning 19,275 gallons of jet fuel, according to Daily Caller News Foundation calculations based on past presidential flights. Obama’s return flight to Washington, D.C., would double the amount of CO2 burned to 378 tons — more than 72 cars driving for a year.
Ah, I see, they're selling indulgences:
The U.N. says the “French government will offset all emissions from travel of registered participants, as well as those from the conference facilities and local operations” by giving money to the international body’s Adaptation Fund. This will “offset” the emissions from the Paris summit by March 2016, according to the U.N.
Money in the bank!

Hillary: "Probably predictable for me to say this but there's a lot we can learn from Latin America's success in electing women presidents"
Argentina? Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner's policies left the economy a mess with double-digit inflation and high unemployment. She's been exposed as corrupt and possibly (probably) condoned the murder of a political rival. Kirchner lost her last election to the rival party which promised to undo her "reforms."
Brazil? Their economy is tanking and their credit rating has been reduced to "junk."
Costa Rica? Laura Chinchilla's government has given the country naught but high unemployment and corruption scandals. She currently has a 9% approval rating, the lowest in Latin America.
Chile? Despite Michelle Bachelet giving the country higher taxes and more social programs (leftist-speak for sound economics), her approval rating is around 24% as the Chile's economy implodes.
Yes, let's emulate that Latin American success and elect Hillary! Or, we could go another way and elect someone who has some actual experience running something - besides running for her life to avoid made up snipers at an airport.

Huh. Apparently the #BLM folks were booted from the "Black Friday" protest in Chicago.
Apparently they don't like being recorded in a public space.
