Remember The Ala Moe ("The Three Stooges" do American History 101).
P.S. I'm in San Antonio for SPSP, the big annual social psych conference. Gregg is at my house being walked all over by, uh, that is, taking care of my dog.

Speaking of which:
I just love this story so very, very much.

My dog loves my boyfriend, but she is great at spotting a pushover for little dogs.

Students hand out copies of the Constitution to other students, get arrested. Should have handed a copy to the head of campus security who did the arresting and the administrator that pushed for their arrest.

If black and minority students aren't doing well, it's he fault of their white male tutors. Cause white men can't teach.

If the "adult" had been elected, this advice would basically be for nought:

On getting kids to write thank-you notes (this is from Feb. 2016 and got reprinted today):
https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/ask-amy-readers-want-gratitude-preferably-in-writing/2016/02/18/7cffbd50-cb95-11e5-88ff-e2d1b4289c2f_story.html?utm_term=.a63fe84470c3#comments
One suggestion from Amy Dickinson:
"Another...method would be to simply not let a child play with or use ANY gifts until ALL of the thank-you notes have gone out."
(Emphasis mine. As Miss Manners once said in response to a mother with a similar method: "(MM) trusts that you are also teaching your children that presents are not just acquisitions but symbols of the goodwill of the givers. Otherwise, you will be in trouble if someone gives them a pair of scratchy hand-knitted mittens that they would be just as happy to leave in your possession.")
I have to say, though, that I was a bit disappointed when it came to Amy D.'s column - there was very few suggestions, either from her or from the commentators, when it came to the non-parents who MAIL the presents and don't get thank-you notes.
I will say, though, that given how many presents many kids get during the entire year, many of the kids would PROBABLY be happy to get nothing but cheerful phone calls from relatives who can't be there; chances are they get presents from their parents on every special occasion anyway. But that's not an excuse not to write the notes, unless the kids are prepared to say out loud something like "it's been sweet of you all these years, but please don't mail any more presents; I don't have room for them."
