I'm bitter! One of my favorite things about the websites is the angry people!
Seriousballs: Universal access to media distributed internationally with the speed of light at essentially zero cost is a fine thing for humanity.
I will die with the belief that people who need to be flattered before they'll accept truth in their lives are not worth cultivating as allies... Their values are not mine, and people who didn't like me have nonetheless taught me tremendously valuable things.
Nonetheless, the consequences of social media are getting spazzy. This link may be a rerun (and the host is far too wordy), but you should listen to this podcast.
PSA that my brother is still being burdened by a false rape allegation. Since July he has been called a rapist in front of a crowd of people, kicked out of concert venues, slandered online, been physically assaulted and received threats of violence. And there is NOTHING we can do
Anyone knows if there's Canadian version of Eugene Volokh who could help them?

@Crid,
If you want to read angry comments, check out cooking sites like Tasty, Twisted, or the Food Network when they publish videos of their version of Italian, Hispanic food; Nothing but angry people shouting that it's not authentic food.
OR, when someone post a recipe of something that seems to be available universally a pasty. You're going to see plenty of South Americans angry that a Cornish Pasty is a cultural appropriation of the Empanada.

The scandal was so bad that even though Mohommad Akbar ran unopposed in the election, he received more “no” votes than “yes” and was ousted from office.
"Akbar has used the classic tactic of, 'Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty.' While he falsely smears Lindsay Shepherd for making students 'unsafe' at Wilfrid Laurier, he himself was involved in a scandal that actually endangered Jewish students at Windsor University."
Hate to say it, Crid, but Queen Christina was listed at least once as one of "The World's Wickedest Women." Along with Messalina, Livia, and Tzu-Hsi (aka Empress Dowager Cixi). There were almost 30 others as well, like Catherine of Brunswick, Belle Starr, Unity Mitford, and Ulrike Meinhof.
...The difficulties and stigma surrounding sterilization have even led to the creation of a Reddit forum of “childfree-friendly” providers who may be more open to performing the procedure.
Some of the barriers to elective sterilization — like the 30-day waiting period and minimum age of 21 required of Medicaid patients seeking the procedure — are well intentioned, meant to prevent the abuses and coercion that vulnerable populations have experienced throughout American history. As recently as 2010, California prisons were found to be sterilizing female inmates against their will.
But when it comes to women who make an informed decision to ask for sterilization, everything from age, marital status and previous number of pregnancies to a hospital’s religious affiliation or a doctor’s personal beliefs can be used as a reason to deny care...

Reminds me of this, from Insane Journal:
Belief: "So Childfree people don't want kids - we get that, but it's not necessary to be so 'activist' about it."
Truth: "It is, actually. We network, we share information on doctors who don't make us jump through hoops and undergo psychological testing and still stay 'sorry, won't do it', no matter what. We share information on birth control, we share frustration with others who understand and have been there - at being told we'll 'change our minds', or nagging in-laws, or getting told by a spouse after five years of marriage that they want children and that's that. We vent about not being allowed time off of work to care for infirm parents or roommates, when coworkers can frequently take off as much as they want to run their kids to soccer practice, and dump the rest of the workload on us. We vent about taxes, about lack of social services and help available for those without children, and at how baby-centric society has become - and it has. Haven't you ever personally experienced the relief and pleasure of being able to congregate and converse with people of like minds? If your whole family and most of your friends followed one political party that did not match your views, how would you feel if you met a group of people who do share your outlook on things, and you can talk to without getting yelled at or told you're crazy? It's no different here."

A "bitch badder than Taylor Swift?" Hmm. Let's see. There's Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a sniper in World War II credited with 309 kills, making her one of the top military snipers of all time. You probably didn't want to hear her sing, but you didn't want to get on her bad side either.
