Acorns Away!
It's been a long and winding day, so feel free to do a little "Advice Goddess Free Swim" (posting links -- one per comment, lest you be chomped by my spam filter) on this photo of my wee dog's nemesis. I hope to post an actual full post in the morning.

Don't believe the hype.
Don’t believe the lies about the US being at ‘full employment’

From the people who brought you REM:
It's Nirvana!
(The REM is better: It maintains the ambience of the original)

This needs to be looked at thru the prism of the Weinsteinian Matrix. I was under the impression that forcing yourself upon someone who has clearly stated a disinterest in such activity was a most serious offense. Apparently, I am mistaken.

Of course not. Total labor participation in the US is still running at about 63%. Here's the U-6 graph:

It is going in the right direction, however. Here are the rest of the unemployment measurements for your viewing pleasure.

Something you may find interesting to read, or discuss:
English translation of letter by actress Catherine Deneuve and four other women, and signed by approximately 100 French women writers, performers and academics attacking feminist social media campaigns like #MeToo and its French equivalent #Balancetonporc (Call out your pig):

Red Robin cuts two lines of work (expediters and busboys) over two years, and saves $18 million.

The de facto minimum wage will always be $0.00.

All right people, sober up... Enough with the teevee stars in politics and all the rest of that.
It's time to test your capacity for subtlety and expansive thinking!

Darth, that was the single most annoying link I've ever followed. It took me to an article that kept bouncing to the bottom of the page so I would be forced to watch the "sponsored content" even when the sponsored content video had played to the end.
I finally saved the page as a .pdf and was able to read the article. Good article, crappy Web site. I'll probably never read another article on the Daily Wire again after that experience.

Conan, that problem is something that a lot of Web sites are encountering right now. It's being caused by third party ads. Some of the scummy third-party ad providers (but I repeat myself) have figured out that they can put Javascript in their ads that will force you to watch their ad, and nothing else, by repeatedly doing a "scroll to here" command. It's happening all over the place. Within the last month, I've seen it at a bunch of media sites of all persuasions, from PJ Media to The Chive. (That last one mildly NSFW.)
I'm not sure if it's one particular ad provider doing it, or if there are several. More evidence that if Javascript is not inherently harmful, it is at least problematic. I would just disable it on my browser, but there are so many Web sites now that won't work without it.

CD, Conan, may I suggest ublock origin?
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/
I didn't experience the reported fuckery on the Red Robin story. ublock is reporting 11 items stopped. Which may load more unknown crap. And so on and on until your system is out of memory.
Or they're mining cryptocurrency on your hardware.
When I come across a site that puts up a "you're using an ad blocker, please don't" I usually just leave the site, but occasionally I'll temporarily disable ublock and see how much crap gets loaded. Then laugh a lot, enable ublock and leave the site.
For giggles, I disabled ublock on the Red Robin link, and it reports that 141 domains are connected. To compare, on this site ublock shows 18 domains connected.

More questions than answers
Why did she need a masters degree to be an elementary school librarian?
Why did she need to go to a school that charged $60,000?
Why does she think she deserves to work a job she likes vs one that would pay more and then gets to complain about not making enough money?
Why does she think its awful for men to reject her for her debt, but she is justified in rejecting men for theirs?

Some years ago, NJ imposed a new tax on big trucks (Peterbilt, Kenworth, et al).
They never noticed that Philly was right there. Instant boom for truck dealers in PA.

Put your answer here:
Realizing that a Master's of Library Science was a useless degree and would not get her the high-paying job she desired, she instead got an MBA in international finance and joined a banking conglomerate. She kicked her layabout boyfriend out when he told her that marriage was a social construct and they didn't need a piece of paper to prove their love. She then sued him for child support. At church, she met a nice older guy with a steady job as a chemical engineer who married her and adopted her son.
OR
She got her Master's of Library Science, but lost her job when budget cuts meant the library could not afford a Children's Librarian. No longer able to mooch off of her, her boyfriend left her for a stripper named Bambi, who made six times more money than she did despite only having a GED. Her car repossessed, she was unable to move into it when her landlord evicted her. With no place to live, CPS took her son into custody and put him in the foster care system. He was later adopted by an Amish family, but died of alcohol poisoning while on Rumspringa in Ft. Lauderdale. She decided all of this wasn't her fault, blamed the patriarchy, put on a pussy-hat, and was trampled to death in the Million Woman March while screaming invectives at Donald Trump.

For years women have been telling men they dont want our help, they want us to listen but do nothing.
So men do that, and then get bitched at for not helping

Darth, I wish I could install an ad blocker on my work computer, but it's locked down tight. At home, I use Adblock Plus. This site is one of a handful that I have whitelisted.
