Is Radical Feminism Mental Illness In Drag?
It sure seems like it from this woman's post about a feminist event she had intended to attend -- along with her two small children, one of whom happens to be male. Julian Vigo writes at Counterpunch:
I wrote and asked if I could bring my children aged two and five. This is the exchange I posted on my Facebook wall:I just received this as an email for a "feminist" event:
"It is a female-only space so we do not allow male children."
My response: "You have just written the most fucked up email I have ever received in my life. Happy not to attend. Wow!!!"
From this post I received comments like, "Why is that fucked up?" where I was expected to explain to an adult female who considers herself a feminist why barring a two-year old because he is male might present a moral problem for any group which not only calls itself "feminist" but which seeks to liberate all females from sex-based oppression whereby the mothers of these children are necessarily excluded. The irony in posing such a question made my head reel, but no sooner could I realize the incongruence of this assertion did another woman write, "I actually don't understand, either. I'm not being snarky. I really don't see why it's wrong to have female-only spaces." I had to underscore many times in these conversations that my objection had to do with being asked not to bring a two-year-old male to a feminist event, not the fact that, as per many social events, children in general were not welcome. My disagreement had nothing to do with "female-only spaces," but dealt with the more serious matter of excluding small male bodies because of some deeply prejudiced views of males from birth.
I then reminded these women of the Facebook groups I have had to leave in recent years where some feminists had actually advocated for the abortion of male fetuses to counter the historical injustices of femicide and misogyny. I had left those groups upon reading this eugenical proposition and reminded these women last week that the disdain for and the planned elimination of male bodies from the site of the social is nothing other than eugenics.
...Certainly, "female-only spaces" is the lie these "feminists" tell themselves to commit to a essentialism of male guilt through birth.
The discussion on her Facebook wall -- amazingly -- degenerated even further, with references to the supposed existence of toddler rapists.
Yes, toddler rapists.
Does any of this -- any of it! -- seem like the thoughts and conversation of mentally well people?

I even, somewhat ironically, invoked the term “feminazi” demonstrating how a word so often misused by men’s rights activists,
So, just to be clear when men point out all the shit she was pissed about they are MRAs misusing the word to cruelly malign innocent feminists, but when she gets pissed about all that crap it is reasonable and noble for her to be upset
Sounds to me like she has some prejudice against men as she is condemning men for condemning the same twisted ideology she condemns

No, it doesn't, Amy.

Do mental illnesses have genders? How can they be in drag?
To reference an ancient sage, 'Bitches be crazy!'

So, rape culture has moved from college campuses and infiltrated the Gymboree?
And they wonder why some people argue against abortion on demand?
Conan the Grammarian at April 3, 2018 6:16 AM
Of course they are mentally unbalanced. I recognized a long time ago that feminism had become a religion. A religion who's members are zealots. These women are similar to muslims.
While muslims demand the death of all who disrespect the prophet;
feminisits demand the elimination of all who disrespect women by daring to be born male.

The resentment of feminists is way out of proportion to any crime men currently commit. Upset about patriarchy in the 1800s? Sorry, statute of limitations applies. Who are the absolute safest class of people? White married women: lowest murder or assault rate of any group, highest standard of living. Most women I know who are married are happy to be married, happy to have a competent man around who earns good money and makes them feel secure and fixes things and teaches the kids sports. These women really need to get a grip.

I never see these feminists refuse to live in a dwelling built by men, drive a car assembled by men, or decline to use their cell-phone created by men. You would think that if they had such strong feelings they would refuse these conveniences.

Not only that, but nothing in the 1800s was going to give today's feminists the life they want to lead. Hell, nothing in the 1800s was going to give them the life they lead today.
Birth control was non-existent. Childbirth was life-threatening, abortion doubly so. Various plagues and illnesses could fell a person in the blink of an eye. Polio, influenza, measles, cholera, smallpox, tuberculosis, whooping cough, etc. all thinned the population with random and deadly appearances.
By the way, ladies, you can thank Jonas Salk, Edward Jenner, Joseph Lister, Albert Sabin, and other men for your longer lives today.

To Julian Vigo's fellow radical feminists, bringing her harmless little "penis-bodied" bundle of love to an all-female safe space would be like bringing a baby rattlesnake.
How long was Vigo an advocate of that same bigoted, sexist ideology before she gave birth to her own precious little future rapist? I can't believe this issue never came up with other feminist mothers of boys before her own boy was two years old. At what age would she no longer allow a boy's presence in an all-female safe space? Just older than her own boy at the time?
I pity the little boys being raised by radical feminists. Gender dysphoria waiting to happen.

"I pity the little boys being raised by radical feminists"
Well, Ken R, 80% of rapists with "anger issues" come from fatherless homes. The Hand that Rocks the Cradle ...

Sorry but I don't really believe Vigo's account or narrative here.
If she's been involved with organized Feminism for any period of time, she'll have encountered their hatred of men long ago.
Yet she's trying to claim that 'radical feminists' have suddenly been usurped fake feminists who have issues with men.
Thats just a lie.
My guess is that she didn't care until they started harassing her personally. Now she sees how hateful and deranged they really are.
Vigo is a liar at April 3, 2018 11:42 AM
There was an easy way out: tell them her sons identify as female and intend to transition when they're older. And then verbally beat the crap out of anyone who dares to claim that trans women aren't real women.
These are some of the leftist ideas that are on a collision course with each other. You can't call everyone who thinks that there's something immutable about biological sex a "transphobe" and at the same time assert that maleness is a real thing -- and a toxic real thing at that -- whenever it better suits your ideological needs to do so.

Vigo is a liar. All dan and finedy when it's some other guy getting crap.
"mentally ill" is a broad concept and if it includes irrational hate, then this certainly counts.

Vigo is on the right side in this issue, but after looking at her Facebook page, I see she is still in the mire of feminism. Perhaps not quite as far gone as the ones she references in this particular piece, but still a third-wave feminist.
She does, for instance, tell a story in which an upstairs neighbor "mansplained" to her. It seems there was a leak coming from his apartment into hers. Not believing this, he wanted to see for himself.
So, evidently, it's mansplaining to want to see evidence when someone is telling you that there is a leak in your apartment coming into theirs.
Maybe he was rude and condescending about it, but the concept of mansplaining suggests that only men can be rude and condescending and only women can be on the receiving end of this.
And even regulars of this blog know that isn't the case.
Patrick at April 4, 2018 3:05 AM
She's more 2nd wave, she's against a lot of the 3rd wave stuff.

with references to the supposed existence of toddler rapists.
Supposed? Trump knows otherwise. Remember his presidential announcement speech?
"When Mexico sends its toddlers, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending toddlers that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing toddler drugs. They’re bringing toddler crime. They’re toddler rapists. And some, I assume, are good toddlers."
