Believing all women is so October 2018 ~ Snoopy at November 15, 2018 4:46 AM
The tone of all those tweets indicates these women knew Avenatti was slimy well before the charges came out.
However, they were happy to see him bring accusations against Trump and Kavanaugh so they kept their opinions to themselves and cheered him on. But as soon as he's on the ropes, they pile on.
They're like sharks with blood in the water. It doesn't matter if it's one of their own, it's feeding frenzy time.
How's the view under that bus, Michael? And why did you think you'd end up any other way? Did you really think they'd let you be a presidential contender in 2020? C'mon, buddy, get real. You were a tool to be used.

Male Gym Teacher Punished For Refusing To Oversee Middle School Girl Get Undressed In Boys' Locker Room
As usual, Snoopy needs to deluge us with stories of interest, so anyone else who has something to share will get buried.
And ironically, Snoopy's biggest critic, Crid, is the reason these link threads were created in the first place. He had this annoying habit of introducing completely irrelevant content, usually in the form of some stale, droll Tweet he just read, and when called on it, he snarled that there were no rules on Amy's blog about how responses had to be relevant to the content. (Most people don't need to be reminded to stay on topic, but whatever.)
Anyhow, this assholish, unprovoked, cheapshot was caught on video, and it got the offender, Kewan Platt, "suspended indefinitely" from the basketball team and banned from campus.
I have no issue with the way Fitchburg State handled this; they did exactly the right thing.
The problem I have is the double-standard that we all know would assert itself if the roles were reversed. What if it were a white player suckerpunching a black player? Our default would be to assume that the white player was racist.
But when a black player does it to a white player? Silence.
Some people have defended Kewan Platt, insisting that we don't know the whole story. Perhaps the victim, Nate Tenaglia, did something to provoke this. But according to those who claim to have been there, the only thing that Tenaglia did wrong was play better than Platt.
And for that matter, why not assume that Platt is a racist? How do we know that he wasn't bothered by the fact that a white basketball player is better than him? Are we sure he doesn't think that basketball should only be a black man's sport and that whites shouldn't be playing it at all?
Do these assumptions sound unfair? We'd be making similar assumptions about Tenaglia had he assaulted Platt in this way.

"So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth."
A United Church minister who had faced an unprecedented ecclesiastical court hearing over her professed atheism is no longer in danger of a defrocking after the two sides reached an agreement in the long-running case.
Yet, because he had the temerity to believe that Spider-Man, for instance, should be retconned into a black character, he is now being demonized on Twitter as a racist. As Stan himself stated, he had no problem with creating new characters who happen to be black, or gay or whatever, but he felt that established characters should stay the way they are.
So, I shared this column of his on Twitter, and (in keeping with my own advice) I had two words for those that insist that Stan Lee was a racist: "Get" and "fucked."

Darth, in a remote way, that reminds me of what the Congregationalist minister and fantasy novelist George MacDonald said in the 19th century:
"Better to be an atheist who does the will of God than a Christian who does not."
Of course, one has to assume that by "will of God," he was referring to those good deeds that everyone, not just Christians, can agree ARE good deeds. Why else would an atheist do them?
But, as you might guess, he was asked to leave the ministry - not for that particular statement, but likely because he thought women should be educated and that the poor shouldn't have to sit in the back of the church. Also, his coziness with Lutheranism.
"Better to be an atheist who does the will of God than a Christian who does not."
Yes, that's so. Cyrus the Persian was called "anointed" because he when conquered the Babylonians, he freed the Hebrew captives and allowed them to return to Israel and rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem.
But how can an actual atheist - one who denies the existence of God, and would say that Jesus was either a liar or insane be able to preach the Gospel?
Gospel of John, 1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
This preacher is either a really bad atheist or a really bad Christian, and I can not figure out which. Maybe it is time to embrace the power "and"?
Also, his coziness with Lutheranism.
Ah, they probably didn't like jello salad. But that was a different time, ecumenism didn't really exist. Anyone not in your $DENOMINATION was doomed to $FIRE, $BRIMSTONE and $DAMNATION.

Interesting article on the cashless push. I'm in the later category, my card issuer and payment processors don't need to know all the details of what I purchase and when.
But instead of legislation to force them to take cash, just call them racists since they're systemically excluding People of Color from their establishments. Call for a boycott, shame them relentlessly, give them no rest, no quarter.
The more I thought about it, the more these businesses began to infuriate me. Are these business owners trying to keep out certain customers? What about children? Or people who are paid in cash, or others who, for whatever reason, can’t or won’t open a bank account (because they are undocumented, for example, or do not have a home or a fixed address)? What about tourists who simply want to avoid bank exchange rates? What about other people who, quite reasonably, don’t love the idea of companies like Apple and Square being able to track their complete purchase histories?
...
This is a common line of thinking among cashless owners — “In New York City everybody carries a credit card or a debit card!” Falco proclaims in his Visa video — but the belief that everyone has access to a card likely only applies to these owners’ target audience. According to the latest national survey by the FDIC, about 6.5 percent of American households (which is about 8.4 million) do not have a bank account, and an additional 18.7 percent are what’s called “underbanked,” which means they are more likely to rely on cash day-to-day. In New York state, almost 25 percent of all households — and nearly half of black and Hispanic households — are unbanked or underbanked.
Umm, what prosecutor in his/her/its right mind decided to go forward with this??
“In the first case of its kind in Tennessee, a Sevier County man will stand trial Wednesday on charges he caused a deputy’s panic attack – while he was unarmed and facedown on the ground several yards from the law enforcement officer.”

The two-billion dollar payoff Amazon got to open its secondary headquarters in Crystal City, VA and in Queens, NYC, is so bad that even the New York Times had to ask, "Did New York and Virginia Overpay for Amazon?"
If you have to ask, you can't afford the subsidies.

This is comparable to black Americans (18%), but well below the graduation rate of white Americans (38%).
Similar trends appear for test scores and earnings.
