Some Democrats Have Had It With The Gender Insanity
Democrat Kara Dansky writes at -- surprise! -- The Federalist:
It is not an exaggeration to say that the United States is in crisis about the meanings of the words sex and gender. We are all victims of this crisis, but the primary victims are women and girls.Throughout U.S. law, the word sex is being completely redefined to mean "gender identity" or "transgender." Congress is doing it. The Biden administration is doing it. The federal courts are doing it.
Most Americans have no comprehension of the implications of this, due to no fault of their own. Very few media outlets will permit us to talk about it. Yet feminists have been talking about it for a long time. The Women's Liberation Front (WoLF) has been talking about it since its founding in 2013 (I served on the board of WoLF from 2016-2020).
Jennifer Bilek talked about it in this publication in her 2018 essay, "Who Are the Rich, White Men Institutionalizing Transgender Ideology?" She continues to talk about it in her outstanding 11th Hour Blog. The Women's Human Rights Campaign (WHRC) has been talking about it globally since 2019 and in the United States since 2020 by advancing the aims of the Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights, which has been signed by more than 20,000 people and hundreds of organizations (I currently serve as the president of the U.S. chapter).
The mainstream media steadfastly ignores all of this and is engaged in a concerted effort to hide it from Americans. But Americans are waking up, due in large part to the steadfast work of radical feminists or, as some people might say, "TERFs."
The acronym "TERF," said to mean "Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist," was created by misogynists to demean those of us who fight for the rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls. Many feminists have chosen to reclaim the acronym, arguing that it stands for "Tired of Explaining Reality to Fools" or "Totally Excellent Radical Feminist."
In October of this year, comedian Dave Chappelle made headlines when he proclaimed that he is "Team TERF" during his Netflix show "The Closer." The hashtag #TeamTERF immediately started trending on Twitter. Chappelle did this in the context of defending British author J.K. Rowling, who has faced relentless abuse for her defense of women and girls and abuse survivors. If fighting for the rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls makes me a TERF, then so be it.
Many people will be angry with me for publishing in The Federalist because The Federalist is a conservative-leaning publication. I am not a conservative and never have been. I registered to vote as a Democrat in 1990. Since then, the only time I was not a registered Democrat was during a brief period in 2007 when I was registered Green (I re-registered as a Democrat so I could vote in the 2008 Democratic primary and have remained so ever since).
Still, I am grateful to The Federalist for publishing this because no one else will. That's because U.S. media has been completely corrupted by an industry that is hell-bent on persuading ordinary Americans that there is such a thing as "gender identity" and that some people "are transgender."
The truth is that "gender identity" does not exist in any real, material sense, and "transgender" is simply a made-up concept that is used to justify all kinds of atrocities, such as convicted male rapists and murderers being housed in women's prisons with vulnerable women, men being permitted to parade around with erect penises in women's sections of spas, and men participating in women's sports. They are being permitted to do all of this on the basis that they have a so-called "female gender identity."
All of "gender identity" and "transgender" politics is a men's rights movement intended to objectify women's bodies and erase us as a class. The entire edifice is a lie. It is left-wing misogyny on steroids.
Democratic Party leadership will not permit discussion about this, anywhere. But I assure readers that there are countless rank and file Democrats who are furious about it.
...I am a second-wave feminist and a Democrat. I stand for the rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls. These cannot be protected if sex is redefined incomprehensibly to include so-called "gender identity."
Feminists have a saying: we cannot protect women and girls on the basis of sex if we cannot say what sex is. My hope is that lawmakers across the political aisle will get a grip and right the wrongs that have been perpetrated in the name of "gender identity."
Every single human being is either female or male. No one "is transgender." It's long past time that lawmakers across the political aisle and members of corporate media said so.
Kara Dansky is a feminist, lawyer, and advocate, and the author of the new book, "The Abolition of Sex: How the 'Transgender' Agenda Harms Women and Girls." She currently serves as the president of the U.S. Chapter of the Women's Human Rights Campaign.
"men being permitted to parade around with erect penises in women's sections of spas,"
Might I ask which sp this occurs regularly? Not that I am interested, but are the men younger or older? Open to conversation?

This is referring to the spa in LA that had the protests

"Every single human being is either female or male."
Umm, no. Actually, a hard "no".
Examples abound in other species, too. It's not just humans and their enormous ego.
It remains that there are those who game the system to commit sexual assault. That's a different problem from seeing that the rights of the many are also available to the few - without yielding to public tantrum.

LOL the Men's Rights movement has nothing to do with this, they have no power, let alone with the left wing. At best they are sitting back munching popcorn watching the Leftists and Liberals fight.

Those darned Rich White Men and their womyn-erasing ways. Ooooh I hate them so much.
Anyway, I'm thinking pastrami sandwich for lunch. You?
Gog_Magog_Carpet_Reclaimers at November 19, 2021 7:46 AM
Eh, Joe, it's a way for left wing men to be MRAs but still appear woke.
NicoleK at November 19, 2021 7:57 AM
Sorry NicoleK but the MRAs have nothing to do with this stuff. As Joe said they are just sitting to the side laughing. . . . Ok, I'll be honest. Those guys don't laugh. They are sitting to the side whining as usual.
Still this whole thing is feminist misandry taken to an extreme. That women are being hurt by it doesn't change that.

So what? It isn't like they are going to do anything different.

Too little too late. The laws are on the books now; notably in influencer states NY and CA.
I'm not sure how they procreate. But we'll have a shoo-in for bed-time stories, The Genderbread Person:

I wonder if all the hormones, mood stabilizers, and other pharmaceuticals that our women have been exposed to have anything to do with this surge in gender dysphoria. Or is this too a social construct?
Baker at November 19, 2021 8:47 AM
I'm shaking my head. The same folks who want to have trigger warnings about potentially upsetting subjects (such as rape or harrassment) before a lecture/class/program/etc create a system that allows actual rape and fear.
Where are the safe spaces for trauma victims everyone was clamoring for?

I have the right to cosplay as a Klingon. I have no right to force you to address me as a Klingon or to behave as though I really am one.
A wise and kind person would advise me against having surgery or drug therapy in order to pass as Klingon since it wouldn't make it real.
There is also a difference between adult males deciding they are "really female" and the horrors being committed against (mostly) middle school girls through (largely) "social media". I think this is one name-- "transgender"-- being used for two separate mental health topics.
Among girls my daughter's age (14) in this very small rural town, the most horrible thing ever is to be "cis" or straight. You can be "trans", "non-binary", a furry, or even maybe lesbian, but don't ever admit to being none-of-the-above. If you do, you're a "slut" or a "whore" (since you might like boys) and your social life is toast. It's insane.

First off Kyle is not guilty on all counts!!!
Baker : "Or is this too a social construct?"
From some occurrences it appears to mostly be social construct. If it were nature, you would have several 500 person high school maybe one in each. But you have several high schools with none then one school with several girls, who all are friends, with one very lefty teacher or parent that are thrilled by it.
Joe J at November 19, 2021 10:52 AM
I think there always have been people who prefer to live as the opposite sex, which is fine.
But I've seen stories from the bechilded about numerous kids in one school (or class) suddenly deciding they're trans or non-binary or whatnot, which just feels like a fad. When dressing goth or punk or dying your hair no longer gets you the attention you seek, declaring that you're trans does. Plus you get to go around patrolling pronouns and picking a new name and such, which seems to be fun for them. (If you haven't heard of "neopronouns," do check it out.)

With all due respect, Raddie, the (very, very rare) chromosomal abnormalities prove the rule: there are ONLY two sexes, male (XY) and female (XX). Sex is biological. "Gender", on the other hand, which I define as how an individual chooses to express their sexuality, is indeed a social construct; it literally can change day to day. Thus, there are as many "genders" as there are individuals.
Accordingly, there is no such thing as "trans-sexual." There are males who choose to express themselves in what is deemed a "feminine" way, and there are females who choose to express themselves in what is considered a "masculine" way.
We do need to have tolerance and compassion for those who choose to express themselves in a non-typical manner. However, we do not have to accept those who piss on our leg and tell us it's raining, i.e., that because they wear makeup or have chest implants they are, in fact, a "real" woman, or that because they can grow facial hair after taking hormones and have had their breasts cut off, they are, in fact, a "real" man.
As for those who might call me a "trans-phobe", well, they can go f*ck themselves.

If someone declares that they prefer to be an amputee or blind, doctors will decline to "fix" them. We do not assist the anorexic to lose weight. We do not assist the 400lb person to gain wt. But suddenly it is ok to help a 12 yr old prevent puberty and then get surgery? wow
Because there is no "test" for whether someone is "really" trans, the current climate allows anyone who claims it to transfer to the women's prison, stay in a women's shelter, shower with the women or girls, etc. They need not have had surgery. None of these are "rights" and endanger women and girls.
Another danger is that women transitioning to "male" take massive male hormones but can become pregnant. What effect does this have on baby?

A lot of people I knew from the 90s goth scene are now transgender.
There was a progression.
First everyone was bi. Then that wasn't edgy enough so everyone was into BDSM. Then that wasn't edgy enough so everyone became poly. Now everyone's trans.
Not everyone. But a LOT of people.
For some reason transmen seem to like to wear bowties.

You don't have to change one bit to go from liberal to conservative, if the whole rest of the spectrum moves and you stay put. It's even happening to Bill Maher.
Welcome to the MAGA community.
