The philosophy behind my columns is enormously influenced by the work of 90-year-old Dr. Albert Ellis, who created Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: essentially, if you fix your irrational thought processes, you can change the way you feel. REBT is, in my opinion, the fastest, most effective form of therapy. This book shows you how to put Ellis’ thinking to work in your own life. If you’re in New York City, try to attend one of Ellis’ Friday night workshops ($5 admission), where he or an Ellis Institute colleague does his form of therapy on a volunteer from the audience.
