Christie Linkley
Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" on streamed radio, & - while I get he's playing a character - when he said he couldn't afford to buy her pearls, I couldn't help but yell: "You're Billy Joel! You could buy her a fucking island!"

PS Yes, world's uncoolest mus. taste & I'm good w/that!

And he married that "Uptown Girl", not long after asserting to wife Elizabeth he was fine with "Just The Way You Are". He left Elle McPherson for Christie.
Sucks to be him, huh?

And he's had two more wives since Christie.
Speaking of the women that men WANT to marry...

Yes, it's Reddit, but it's plausible enough.
I REALLY don't understand why most of the votes are going against the OP - a man. Also, the way the comments are upvoted and downvoted isn't consistent.
(Unless most of the angry readers are women who didn't stop to think if they'd feel the same way if the tables were turned.)
What's also strange is that none of those who voted against the OP - unless I missed one - have dared to contradict his basic argument, which is that, with few exceptions, men who don't want children and men who are willing to support housewives Don't Overlap in the millennial population, and it's futile to pretend that isn't the case.
(I would guess that's pretty much always been the case. Before the Pill, men who REALLY didn't want children likely avoided getting married - and even after the Pill, women who didn't want children had to pretend otherwise or risk ostracization.)
Unless, maybe, his job requires a lot of entertaining at home - or a constant home secretary. As many pointed out, most of the time, keeping house for two adults only just isn't a full time job - and that can easily lead to resentment on the breadwinner's side. (Not to mention - how would the housewife support the husband should disaster strike?)
I recommend listing the 580 comments by "Controversial."
Btw, hardworking househusbands got mentioned too - their wives seem to be happy.

So you many hours to you lose going down those rabbit holes every week? Me? Quite a few!

Thank you, RPM, for admitting it.
Actually, I wouldn't read Reddit so much if it weren't for the fact that it's easier to access than Facebook (when you don't want to set up an account for either one), and Usenet is all but dead. In other words, there's a lot of traffic at Reddit, on MULTIPLE topics, that you can't easily get elsewhere.
Plenty of us, after all, read novels. While we know they're not true (even when they're based on true stories), there's still plenty of wisdom to be garnered from both good and bad novels, if you're alert and discriminating enough.
(Sort of like the professional news media.)
