Maxmind Asshole Finder
Good news for girl detectives! Wanna know who's spamming you -- or at least where they're doing it from? Check out GeoTool. Just type in the buttwad's IP address and zip in with the satellite function!
Thank you, Consumerist, for yet another great link.

Yeah, GeoTool is fun and a great free service. Don't be too optimistic about zooming in on the spammers, however. At best you'll find their ISP. Quite likely the address has been bundled by a Regional Internet Registry (RIR) so that's who you'll find. At worst, the address is totally spoofed so you'll merely be misled (which of course is exactly what the spammer intends).

The most recent attempt to phish my paypal account came from 216.39.58.74.
That addy is allocated by AltaVista, along with everything else in the range 216.39.48.0 - 216.39.63.255, a block of 3840 addresses. AltaVista's street address is 701 First Ave, Sunnyvale. Guess where GeoTool thinks it is? In the middle of the SF Bay salt ponds!

Yeah, it's usually more reliable to traceroute the ip and try to figure out the location of the hops by the server names, which often incorporate the name of their state and/or city.
