This Cow Is About To Burst Into Tears
My cup runneth under.

I'm going through my Din Johnson/Nancy Rommelmann artisanally-roasted Ristretto coffee super-fast, because it's so good.
My review: It's like drinking velvet.
Now, there's confirmation of that from Iraq, where soldiers read my column in the Stars & Stripes. I got this email from one of them:
You're right, the coffee is great, like velvet...the french however are like human sandpaper!
If you want to mail-order some of their coffee (and I swear, you'll rank other coffees as Swill, Swill-Minus, or worse, once you do), drop in at the brand new Ristretto site Jackie Danicki and Hillary Johnson just designed out of exasperation that such amazing coffee wasn't available by mail order, except to friends of Nancy's who had her personal email address.

OK - I'm game. Amy, do you have blened to recommend?

I got the Sumatra Mandheling last time. This time, I ordered that and the one described on the blog as "chocolately." I order them "ground for espresso," and make them in my Chemex, but that, apparently, makes me a coffee heathen. (Not grinding as used.) I store them in the freezer and put out a little bit at a time in my coffee container, which Nancy says is supposed to block out all light. Mine doesn't. So, you can be a coffee heathen, apparently, and still have it all work out pretty damn well in the end.
PS Stil have to go to get those docs! Crazy month.

How cool is it that you're in Stars & Stripes?

It's the coolest thing. I just love being in that paper, and I get the greatest emails from soldiers. This guy is very cool (who wrote about Nancy and Din's coffee, above). He just wrote me again -- he's coming home in 27 days. To Texas, I think. (Stay safe!)
