I had one that said "Go AWAY". I would put that out any time I was in a pissy mood, and didn't want company. My other welcome mat didn't have any words on it, just some viny-looking things. The one I have now says, "Wipe your paws".
I saw one once that said: "Nice Underwear!"
Worth a giggle.

I have that mat! I put it out when I don't want to be disturbed, but it doesn't seem to work; My neighbors still bug me. I want one that states- LEAVE! Yes, this means you. Turn around! NOW! Or something along those lines. I've yet to find one. :(
I really, really, really want one that discourages religious ppl from knocking on my door. No Solicitation doesn't seem to cut it. They think it doesn't apply to them. It does, esp. when they try to "sell" me on their brand of carpenter worship. *Grumble* I've got it out for missionaries today. Jehovah witness got me out of bed at 9 am today. (I was up all night w/ a very sick kid)

Jehovah witness are easy.
Step 1 point out that armegeddon didnt com in 1914, 1925 or 1975 like their church said it would
Step 3 point out that everyone else gets an eternity on a paradise earth - no matter what
Step 4 ask why you should join a religion that makes it statistically impossible to get into heaven, especially when everyone gets the door prize anyway.
Step 5 Tell them that since the odds of them getting into heaven are less than one tenthousandth of 1% perhpas they'd like to join a religion which wouldnt deny them heaven for having the wrong cosmic lottery ticket

My doormat simply reads "Welcome to my Republic."
I'm thinking of changing it to "Empire."

By the way, my title is:
"Sir Thomas Richard Jacob Fullery the Younger, Chief Patriarch and founder of the Patriarchal Republic of New Deseret, and supreme ruler of all beasts of the field and vegetation of the land and fishes of the waters and birds of the air within its boundaries."
You know, I've never been a pretentious person.

"You know, I've never been a pretentious person."
That should help when you're up for promotion to Senior Chief Patriarch.

...point out that their religion says only 144,000 get into heaven
What's the motivation for the 144,001st convert?
I'm pretty sure they've already reached their limit - yet they're still recruiting. What's up with that?
Or is recruiting just an activity which, once started, cannot be stopped - kinda like Congressional spending?
Do they really think that Witness #145,206 is going to be all giggles and happiness at the end of the world when he discovers he could have spent his time doing something other than going door-to-door in a dorky tie and short sleeved shirt? And kept his tithe to spend on beer?
