The Auntie Christ On The Radio Today At 2:30 PM Pacific
I'd like "The Auntie Christ" to be my nickname for this afternoon so you'll remember to listen to me on the radio from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific Time on KPCC.
I'll be talking with the LA Times' David Lazarus, who's sitting in for Patt (the Hatt) Morrison, on the heckler who called President Obama "The Antichrist" at his fundraiser last night, and as a broader issue, on civility and how we treat our politicians.

Dear Ms Alkon,Please in my most polite way possible, do not make the grave mistake of bringing up Joe Wilson of Valerie Plame fame as the Democrat who yelled out "You lie!" during President Obama's State of the Union Speech. That was South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson (R). I hope you will correct the error as soon as possible.

I am so sorry - thank you so much for writing me. It was in my notes from a long time ago, and I saw the Joe Wilson/Plame movie recently and made the (gulp) leap to thinking it was them. I'll post this on my blog. Please let me know if you want your name on your note. I'll wait to hear from you. Many, many thanks for writing. I work really hard to put out the scientific truth in my column -- it's just awful that I maligned the other Joe Wilson on the radio in one "slip of the lip." Best,-Amy
It's an Obama Chicago-style world! I just watched footage of that supposed Right Wing heckler at the Obama fundraising event and I'm guessing the guy was a plant - like Obama's security doesn't carefully screen every single attendee. Also, it was an event with no media and yet, the media is reporting on the heckler and has footage. Hmmmmm . . .
It was just last week that Obama said he's being compared to and labeled "the opposite of Christ" by Tea Partiers and now, we have a supposed right winger yelling about God and Obama being called the antichrist just a week later. Hmmmm . . .
Our Liar in Chief is savy with his community organizing ways and he's now planting and creating controversy. He can't be bothered with big issues like our economy, the wars in the Middle East, illegal immigration, our security, etc., because he's worried about getting in for another four years. You must try and watch the footage - it feels so staged with Obama smirking at the heckler (he typically looks angry when someone challenges him) and the audience cutting off the heckler by chanting "four more years." Obama's playing with us or is it playing us?

Did you hear? upwards of 20,000 Russian-made IR seeking shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles seem to have gone missing.
Deer NATO: next time, target the ammo dumps, ok? Auntie Christ wouldn't have made that mistake.

The man portable Surface-to-Air Missiles (SAMs) were all over the Middle East, South and Central America, as well as other places.
The air to mud type of flyers had mild concern for them but not fear. The warhead on them is relatively small. If you put one into an F-16 he's probably going to go down, but he would be able to eject. An A-10 or C-130 would hurt, but could probably make it home.
Punch it into a commercial aircraft such as a 737 -- it will have about the same effect as sucking two geese through the engine, or maybe clipping a tree.
A heat seeking missile is really only effective from behind the aircraft. The range is limited. The terrorists would effectively have to be within 10 miles of the airport to get an aircraft at launch. They would need to damage on both engines for a twin or triple engine plane. And three engines for a 747 or Airbus A340 type A/C to bring it down quickly.
As always -- the fear usually outweighs the actual threat.

+1 on this being a set-up, just like the invisible racists who heckled the CBC and the people that Nancy Pelosi claimed to have seen marching around with Nazi flags. It's all BS intended to divert attention, smear the enemy, and garner sympathy. Of course the press will run with it ad nausea. Progressives are in love with the image of themselves as the noble victims of a benighted America filled with hateful backwards people. It's poli-porn for poseurs.

Gregg is looking into another solution for me now for radio. The thing we were trying to do seems technically impossible on Macs. (I have total faith in Gregg -- something technological might be hard for him to figure out, but he can do it in time.)
I'm hoping to have a call-in show up within the next few weeks. I just hope you'll all call!
