Gregor Samsa's Girlfriend
Photo by Gregg Sutter. (Who is Gregor Samsa?)
Art at One-Eyed Gypsy, cool downtown bar (and former speakeasy) where reason and LA Press Club co-hosted a party for Kurt Loder's book, The Good, the Bad and the Godawful: 21st-Century Movie Reviews.

The relationship of a cockroach and a spider would have to go through some serious metamorphosis before it would work! K?
(And I hasten add that I did *not* need to click the link!!!)

Saw a cartoon the other day that showed a martyr getting up to heaven, and his 72 virgins were all old Irish Catholic nuns.

"Who is Gregor Samsa?" made me think of a mashup of The Metamorphosis and Atlas Shrugged, perhaps about a giant cockroach who's an implausibly super-genius industrialist.
Which is honestly the most amusing thing I've thought of all day.
So you get a "+Like1" for that.

I always laugh at those "Who is John Galt?" bumperstickers, because I'm thinking hey, it's a long-ass book, I don't fault you for not finishing it and forgetting the character.

Sigvald, one could also mash up The Metamorphosis and "Animal Farm:" Six legs good! Eight legs bad!

As a leg man, I wouldn't mind a woman with eight of them. But I'd get tired of the same thing for dinner ("dead flies again?") every night.

You just wanna be the center of a fivesome

What straight guy wouldn't? I bet even Rick Santorum has dirty little fantasies about a more-than-twosome.

Four is three more than than I could find use for in any given moment, especially since the the probability of an unpleasant emotional episode skyrockets to 13,232-to-1. (Source: Wolfram Alpha.)
Well, OK, maybe two more than I could find use for.
Tweet, tweet.

Ah yes, I forgot about the dread UEEs.
Always interesting, the little things you can learn on the internet...
In the Wikipedia piece on The Metamorphis I read this:
In 1995, the actor Peter Capaldi won an Oscar for his short-film Franz Kafka's It's a Wonderful Life.
Peter Capaldi was in one of my favorite films, Local Hero (along with another Peter, Riegert, and the wonderful Burt Lancaster.) And when I clicked on the link with his name, I discovered:
As an art student, Capaldi was the lead singer in the punk rock band "Dreamboys", which included the future comedian Craig Ferguson as drummer.
