Ugliness From Some Ron Paul Supporters...Or Is It A Fake Posted By Huntsman Supporters? (See Update)
An ad by them targeted Huntsman's adopted daughters, writes Ros Krasny for Reuters:
An online ad authored by "NHLiberty4Paul" shows footage of Huntsman with daughters Gracie, who was adopted from China, and Asha, adopted from India, when they were infants."American values. Or Chinese," the ad asks to a soundtrack of Chinese music. It calls Huntsman "the Manchurian Candidate" and ends with an image of Huntsman dressed as China's former communist leader Mao Zedong, and the words "Vote Ron Paul."
Paul, a Texas congressman, disavowed the ad during an interview on Friday on CNN, but said he could not control the actions of all his supporters.
"I couldn't even hear it, haven't looked at it, but people do that, and they do it in all campaigns," Paul said.
I think it's terrific when people who can't have kids adopt instead of using a surrogate. Taking unwanted children in...and there are plenty in China and India...this is something somehow un-American? Quite the contrary, I'd say, considering how we're a nation of immigrants.
I don't think this ad helps Ron Paul.
UPDATE: Anti-War Blog posts an accusation that the ad was posted by a Huntsman supporter.

I suspect the people who produced the ad are not really Ron Paul supporters at all, but impersonators.

That this ad went viral that quickly as it did is extremely suspicious. Moreover, why is it that Paul's detractors can say all forms of vile and heinous things about him but that never is thrown back in other candidates' faces?
Mark Levin seems to daily outdo himself in his vituperative rants against Paul in his support of Romney or Gingrich or whomever it is the GOP is supporting that week and no one ever says how that will hurt ol' Mittens or The Newt.
But we all know Ron Paul's supporters are a bunch of weirdos and racists.
Challengers to the status quo are always painted in the worst possible light. And the threat that they pose to that status quo makes us uneasy and susceptible to the worst type of confirmation bias... the knee-jerk reaction.
You want to see Paul's supporters as gap-toothed, mouth-breathing racists and so you give credence to the idea that they did this, feeding the establishment's fear mongering, because you don't want to be associated with 'those people.'

Who's "you"? Me?
I have no interest in seeing Ron Paul's supporters in any particular way.
I'm a libertarian and some of his views are extremely appealing to me. He also doesn't believe in evolution and he's a doctor who doesn't understand the meaning of "theory" in science. I also have problems with his views on abortion.

Ditto. Though I will say: If you don't cover what he says, they howl. If you DO cover it, they howl about something else.
The cult of victimology around Paul is sui generis and not something I've experienced with any other mainstream candidate of any party.

OR...
Maybe it's from another candidate altogether. It doesn't make sense for Huntsman supporters to create the ad, since it is, even in a way that many wouldn't approve, anti-Huntsman. But if you're a supporter of any other candidate, well, you get a two-for-one, it's anti-Huntsman on it's face, and it's anti-Paul with the backlash.

I don't think you can blame Ron Paul or his general base of support. You have a few million people that endorse you, there are bound to be a few thousand kooks.
Ditto on the Santorum family handling of their dead newborn. None of my business, people grieve in different ways.

You mean like the members of Stormfront?
I realize that one can't forbid such knuckledraggers from supporting this or that candidate. But you have to worry about what Luap Nor's appeal to them is.
Perhaps it was his newsletter predicting the coming race war? Nah, must be something else.

I like Huntsman. But I agree this video seems more like trollinmg than something sincere; it's so over the top that the person who produced it is either nuts or disingenous. I'd believe it was a misguided act by a Huntsman supporter, or the product of one of Paul's more unsavory supporters; both seem plausible.
None of this will change the fact that Romney is the nominee.
