Not sure if was his phone connection or the setup but his volume was kind of lower not inaudible, but not as distinct as yours.
I have a permanent, minor, hearing loss in some of the vowel sound ranges. To not embarrass myself as much as I could, over the years I've made it a habit to just not snap off a comment. I take at least a half a second (if not more) to re-process what I've heard. i.e. Phraseology sounds right, makes sense in context of the conversation, is somewhat logical.
Put me in a room with a bunch of people having miscellaneous conversations that are not related to the conversation I am having and I only last a short time.
Good interview -- definitely information people need to grasp at some point.
