TSA: Stand Still While They Sexually Assault You; Get Arrested If You Do It Back To Them
Via Lisa Simeone at TSANewsBlog, WINKnews reports that a female traveler is facing charges for turning the tables on the rights-violating TSA workers:
Police say they arrested Carol Jean Price, 59, for battery and resisting an officer after they say she groped a TSA agent at Southwest Florida International Airport. Arrest reports say Price was about to board a flight to Ohio when she was chosen for a pat down at security. Price was reportedly angry about the extra screening and asked to speak to a supervisor.Other TSA agents told police that's when Price "reached down to demonstrate and grabbed the leg of the agent and crotch area as she claimed had happened to her."
As Lisa wrote:
Again, think about this: Price was arrested for doing what TSA agents had already done to her and what they do to passengers every day.
If there is no reasonable suspicion you've committed a crime, or you are not out on a date and feeling frisky, there is no reasonable reason for a government worker to grope you.
More in the next few days on the groping that was done to me, and the intimidation tactics that led up to it, when I flew back from JFK on Monday afternoon. (I only wish I knew the name of the traveler who pitched in and helped me so I could thank her again.)
And please, don't go quietly. By doing so, you're contributing to our creep to becoming a police state.

I think this is a role that more elderly women and men should be taking.
Women especially are given a special leeway and respect in society.
Can you imagine what would happen if, Alice's Restaurant like, 1-10 women over 60 a day groped TSA agents? 1-10 men over 70 to do so?
Or if in one city, any city, we could get 10 women lawyers to do the same?
And if the ACLU promised to defend them gratis and recruited other lawyers to do so pro-bono?
How long before Congress would be falling all over each other to demand the TSA stop?
jerry at May 2, 2012 12:34 AM
I don't think this is likely to stop.
We've just been committed to a continuing presence in Afghanistan by Teh Won.
As Emanuel Goldstein put it in 1984, the purpose of the war is not to win - it is the consumption of human output.
How else would you implement a police state without selling the public its own fear? The boogeyman must be provided!

Radwaste, exactly.

One of the biggest problems is that its not easy to hold these people accountable. I had a woman TSA agent feel inside the waist band of my skin tight leggings. What was she expecting to find there? She was punishing me for not going through the scanner. I had been patted down before and that had not happened. I was so upset that I just wanted to get away from her. But I found an app that allows you to send in a complaint right on your phone. Flyrights isn't perfect, but its a way to complain without dealing with supervisors that don't care that you were groped because its "standard procedure."

I'm sorry, but how on earth is sexually assaulting a TSA employee going to do anything? It is their job to do the searches. Yes, the searches are much too invasive and should change, but touching a low-level, underpaid government employee won't do anything to fix things.

We have not been able to roll back the TSA through polite means, and thus, extraordinary measures seem quite called-for. Bureaucracy protects itself.

By demonstrating that the "procedures" that the TSA have instituted are assault?
That's pretty ironclad.
If you do something to me, and it's OK, and I do it back to you, and it's not, then we've got a logical issue here.
It is their job to do the searches.
I prefer to hear that in the original German.

Ridicule might. If she did exactly what was done to her, and was then charged with assault, then either she did not assault them, or the TSA is assaulting people in the course of doing their legal and aboveboard activities.
Either the TSA is assaulting people who merely desire to travel around this "free" country, or they're falsely accusing people of "assault".
Which is it, anon?
Unix-Jedi at May 2, 2012 1:10 PM
I discussed this with my husband, and we agree that the TSA is not "punishing" you with sexual assault when you refuse to go through the scanner. They don't have the capability to form those thoughts. The reason they practically give you a pelvic exam is that they are trained that anyone who doesn't act like a tranquilized sheep is a terrorist, and they MUST find your weapons and stop you! Because why would you make any kind of a fuss if you WEREN'T a terrorist?
Sosij at May 2, 2012 3:20 PM
Sosij,
I haven't posted my standard rant in a few days. Thank you for reminding me how ignorant some people can be. This also applies to Anon.
For all you regular readers of the Goddess' blog you can skip past this post. I'm going to post my regular rant about not needing the TSA. For all you new readers, please read it carefully and refute any statement or misstatement. ;-)

The TSA was not needed one hour and one minute after Tower II was hit!
The paradigm, the norm, the expected, what everyone was taught to do was to sit down, shut up and wait for the plane to land and the negotiations happen. That was the model from Entebbe onward.
The passengers on board did not really know what was about to happen on September 11, 2001 at 8:46:30 when Flight 11 struck Tower I.
Even the passengers on Flight 175 probably didn't realize what was about to happen when they struck Tower II at 9:03:02.
The Pentagon crash of Flight 77 at 9:37:46 may have been still a matter of ignorance.
At 10:03:11 on September 11, 2001, United Airlines Flight 93 crashed after the brave souls counter-attacked and caused the hijackers to crash the plane.
The time difference is 60 minutes and 9 seconds from Tower II being struck to the crash of Flight 93. The shoe bomber and panty bomber were taken down by fellow passengers as well. Recently, JetBlue's Flight 191 pilot was taken down by the passengers once he was out of the cockpit. Additionally how many times have you heard of passengers' concerns and diverted flights?
The TSA is and has always been a joke, no make that a total stupidity, that has wasted our country's fortune going down a rabbit hole.
If you don't believe me look at the 9/11 timeline.
There will never be another 9/11 style attack unless the attackers can arrange planes full of geriatrics, and even then it would be doubtful.

Please argue any of the above post. I enjoy eating trolls for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Well said as usual Jim. Though these days I grow more and more convinced that 93 was shot down by the air force.

Please contact your congressman and senators. Tell them to withhold funding from TSA until the agency respects the Constitution and the traveling public. Specifically:
1. Remove and destroy all imaging machines that potentially can "see" under our clothing.
2. End all invasive patdowns that involve touching genitalia unless there is probable cause to believe that the individual has committed a crime.
3. Cease immediately harassment of people who assert their constitutional rights during airport screening.
Our legislators need to hear from us on this issue. Thank you.

Why should the TSA be held to a higher standard than the rest of government?

The internet is flooded today by 9-11 truthers, yet the obvious is still ignored by the Powers-That-Be:
WW-2 was supposed to have crushed the Nazis; instead we became them!
We can piss and whine endlessly about our rights being violated, but if we never address the motivation for all of it, not much will change.
By accident I ran across this site www.Hoaxof thecentury.com. It outlines the nazi-fication of the United States, and then leads to the obvious fabrication of 9-11 events by our government.
The author isn't the only one making the nazi connection to our state of affairs today. Dave Emory has been doing it for over THIRTY YEARS. His research gets aired on For The Record radio shows each week.
I've read about the likely use of drone aircraft, but this goes into specifics: a pair of modified 737s, carrying napalm, were used against the Twin Towers, directed from a Navy helicopter that appears in images captured by numerous witnesses. Napalm burns with a reddish flame; jet fuel burns yellow. The flames erupting from the WTC are redddish. There was no Flight 93 crash. It was actually a drone A-3 Skywarrior (an obsolete jet bomber), as was the aircraft that hit the Pentagon. No commercial airliner could strike the Pentagon in the same manner.
Folks, we are being taken over by psychopaths. You can only make sense out of what they do to us in the context of psychopathy.
bluenorther at May 3, 2012 5:26 PM
"You can only make sense out of what they do to us in the context of psychopathy."
And apparently, something has been done to you, for a long list of reasons.
It wasn't 737s that pushed back from the gates at Logan, and neither were the pilots ignorant of the differences. Nor was the tower at Boston.
You haven't mentioned anything about the hundreds of thousands of tons of complex hydrocarbons present inside the Towers which caught fire. I know without asking that you have no idea how the Towers were built, what "creep" is as a metallurgical term, or anything whatsoever about the physics of flight or of the event.
But you have a faith you must follow. That's why you won't even track the people. Where do you think the words, "Let's roll" came from? The soundstage used for the Apollo hoax?
Now, you have received the attention on the Web you desperately crave. You're welcome (not).
This noise interrupts the serious conversation. Go read a book about architecture or aircraft, then come back when you're ready to apologize. There is no room for fantasies when you are attempting to uphold the COnstitution.

bluenorther, while I have no doubt that there are people in government more than willing to do such things, it didnt happen that way. The number of people required for such a conspiracy could never contain such a conspiracy.
Two people can keep a secret if one of them is dead, and it would have required hunndereds to pull something like that of
lujlp at May 5, 2012 6:35 AM
No matter how many thousands of people are sworn to secrecy, the plain fact is that 9-11 did NOT happen as bluenorther asserts.
When you get the most basic facts wrong, and throw out anything that doesn't agree with your preconception of events, that's the sort of nonsense which results.
