Some asshole, who is within his rights, generates a film designed to incite riot, and 4 innocent men die, at the hands of thugs, and it becomes an American political gotcha.

Some corners of the United States [Hi there! :)] believe that the denigration of the religious beliefs of others is less-than-deplorable. Calling it 'holy work' might not be appropriate, but it might be closer to the truth than 'deplorable'.
