Singing In The Rain
No need to go all uglyfoot just because it's raining.
Here are some stylish Nomad rain boots at Amazon.
I thought of them because it was raining when I was getting dressed on Thursday morning, so I used the opportunity to wear the kitten-heeled Tamara Henriques rain-boots I got at the Santa Monica Salvation Army. (Unfortunately, they don't have them at Amazon.)

Rain boots I would actually wear! Cool. I wish I had access to your thrift stores out there.

There's a huge cheap one on the right and a more chi-chi one on the left. These are from the chi-chi side, but they were still only $15. I typically spend $10 or less there (and about $4 on the cheap side), but they were in my huge-footed size and too cute to pass up. Also, they're extremely comfortable, which is odd, considering they're rubber boots.
For anyone who lives in LA or visits here, it's the Salvation Army at 11th and Olympic. The staff are super-nice, so say hi and tell them the redheaded girl who shops there a lot sent you.
The cool thing is, even if you end up buying clothes frequently, if you spend $4 and $10 on things, you're still only spending $14 a month on clothes! (And I only buy stuff I love -- not a mere amasser of stuff.) My best purchase so far is a $2 jacket I wear constantly when it's a little cooler.
