The Religion Of Pieces
From a 2006 Pew Global Attitudes Project poll:
26% of younger Muslims in America believe suicide bombings are justified.
35% of young Muslims in Britain believe suicide bombings are justified (24% overall).
42% of young Muslims in France believe suicide bombings are justified (35% overall).
22% of young Muslims in Germany believe suicide bombings are justified.(13% overall).
29% of young Muslims in Spain believe suicide bombings are justified.(25% overall).

What are the conditions in France that make the young Muslims there so much more radical? I think it is important to look at that. Is there a way to defuse them, so to speak, and get them less radical.
It's a stupid question though. Because I can see situations in which I would do a suicide bombing. If Switzerland was occupied by Libya and they were making our lives hell, I could see driving into a congregation of soldiers and blowing it up. But I am generally opposed to them. I am also generally opposed to nuclear bombs, but I think the use of them to end WWII was justified (at least the first one. Maybe not the second). I could see how a future situation might arise in which it would be necessary to use them.
So I guess I'd fall in the 20-something percent.
These are all war tools... drones, nuclear bombs, kamikazes, agent orange, guns, swords, smallpox blankets, targeted assassinations, bunker busters, sowing fields with salt. It's easy to say you're against them when you're not fighting for your life, land and those of your loved ones.

Ridiculously high unemployment, on the order of 35% in the ghettos. Also, they're not assimilated into French culture, and they have been sent to (and desire to) live in those ghettos. They have subsequently enacted some form of Sharia.
And there seem to be about 750 offical no-go zones for the police in France. Maybe your French better than mine, but this appears to be an offical French government website listing those zones:

72% of intimidating public opinion statistics are collected from people who are moving about their lives in good order but inclined to blow off a little steam when asked for an anonymous opinion by a fuckball pollster who's just trying to pull together some colorful "data" to sell on Monday morning.

Actually, I don't think you got it right.
Because my mom lives in one of the zone cited by the source, and police come quite often, even has an office 100 meters away. And she still has to obey the law.
I looked at the definition, ZUS, (the english wikipedia is a bit short but okay) are mostly place where more dedicated effort is made by the state to grow the place economically. Of course poverty and crime are often in the same place (correlation does not imply causation), so there is often more crime there than in other places.
Now, unofficially, there are place called "zone de non-droit", literally, lawless zones, i.e. wild west. Depending who is counting, the number of zones varies, the far-right (which is equivalent to KKK) estimate the number to 800. I suspect that is much less. Indeed, in these zones, the police act cautiously (to say the less), and an ambulance or the firetruck would not act as long as the police did not show up (some stupid people indeed). One problem is that if the police catch a youngster which is popular, it can degenerate quickly into a riot. France is now too civilized to let the police shot on rioter like in 68, therefore, once the riot start, it stops when there is nothing left to burn (usually in their own neighborhood! they are burning their own car bus stop, ...!! did I said stupid?). That s why the police is relunctant to do their job for the small fries...
At least, in my new country, Texas, I can count on the police to shoot as soon as needed!
