I won't get into the religious aspects of it. But I'd like to suggest that her badge gets a 15-30 second cycle in a microwave every single morning. She has her badge. That it doesn't register is another story. The school then has to prove civil disobedience. That is a much harder standard. And the I'm sure more than one of her peers knows about the protest.

Wait a minute, if they offered to remove the chip wouldnt the fact that it is no longer a tracker making wearing the card a moot point?
