Rand Paul Filiblizzard: "Stand With Rand"
Still ongoing as Rand Paul stands up for the Constitution -- as so few people do these days. Some tweets about his filibuster to block Brennan's nomination over the issue of drone strikes:

Rand Paul's filibuster enters the 11th hour: http://bit.ly/YAzgVA@amyalkon
"Once you give up your rights, you will not get them back."--Rep. Ted Cruz, TX. He's absolutely right. Psst, TSA, drone, & Obama apologists@amyalkon
I love that Rand Paul was reading from Alice In Wonderland. I've always wanted a hookah-smoking caterpillar as a pet. Preferably w/a monocle
Watch live here.
A quote from Paul:
I will speak until I can no longer speak, I will speak as long as it takes, until the alarm is sounded from coast to coast that our constitution is important, that your right to trial by jury is precious, that no American should be killed on American soil without first being charged with a crime, without first being found to be guilty by a court.

Amy, I just did a quick scan of tweets for #StandWithRand. I couldn't see any negative ones. Have you seen any? Whether a person is Left or Right, why would ANY American possibly condemn Rand Paul for what he is doing? For if they did then that does mean, by definition, that they agree with the government killing Americans on U.S. soil without a trial, does it not?

My view is that unless they can show imminent threat is less than 6 or 12 hours, the executive branch has a requirement to get, at minimum, an arrest warrant from a judge for any U.S. Citizen whether they are state side or overseas.
If it is a battlefield or a state-side criminal activity, the standard for combat/law-enforcement rules apply. So if a soldier is in Afghanistan is shooting at an Al-Qaeda combat team there is no question. Targeting a 16 year old American looking for his father is not an imminent threat. They need to get a judge to sign off on it.

When I heard teh scotus was going to hold a hearing on Obama even being legally allowed to be Pres, I was so hopeful. I thought "aha, THIS explains Roberts decision on Obamacare! It was a tradeoff to get rid of him!". Bummer that doesn't seem to be the case, now. Can you imagine teh storm that would be running full gale through this country if Bush had said he had the right to kill citizens sans trial?

Kudos to Paul. At least someone cares about our rights.

True. It will be interesting see how this filibuster will be remembered by liberals when (or if) a Republican is elected president.

Rand Paul is running for president, he just hasn't announced yet.
He should have catheterized himself or worn Depends.
I want to see a Rand Paul/Paul Ryan ticket. I also want to see McCain and may others gone.
