Ugh -- father of still-alive suspect calls him "a true angel."

This kid was following it all night on Reddit, but it melted down. Here's his Twitter. Hope that hold up.

I think he's cornered.

Anyone else have the scanner connection drop? Can't seem to get back in.

The father is also quoted as saying if they kill the second son, there will be "hell to pay." Great.

Well, they've just evacuated a train: from Channel 8 New Haven news: "An Amtrak train en route from New Hampshire to New York was evacuated in East Norwalk for police activity this morning.
According to Lindsay Nyberg, a passenger on the train, those on board were told that there might be a person of interest on a train ahead of theirs.
It is unknown at this time if that person of interest was 19-year-old Boston bombings suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev.
News 8 has also received reports of heavy police presence at the Norwalk and Darien train stations and the bomb squad is reportedly on the scene."
Also, I heard that the suspect was supposedly in a Honda CRV on I-95 going through Connecticut! So who knows?
I hope they catch this kid alive. Answers are needed and so is accountability.
Flynne at April 19, 2013 7:23 AM
Local CBS affiliate here in MA says Honda has been found.
JFP at April 19, 2013 7:28 AM
Okay, so maybe he did get on a train. Egads.
Flynne at April 19, 2013 7:38 AM
This says train all clear, does seem like they're looking for someone. His family seems very willing to talk to local news crews here in Boston.

Scanner I'm listening to says they have a suspect in custody, but not the 19 year old white cap suspect. Looks like he has explosives on him.
JFP at April 19, 2013 7:52 AM
Something still brewing in Niagara Falls.

Scanner I'm on now saying they have a 60 year old placing things in his pocket treating as suspicious. Think they're in Watertown where evreything happened overnight.

These d**ks may have friends.
JFP at April 19, 2013 8:40 AM
They might. I really hope they don't and they're Washington-Sniper-type whackos, because somehow that feels less scary to me than something so organized. But fact is those guys had an awful lot of explosives and that kid is awfully good at running and evasion for a 19-year-old. So it might be something bigger than a couple psychos. It's all speculation now.
It could also be server overload, though, LOTS of people were following.
NicoleK at April 19, 2013 9:11 AM
The fact that everyone saw him as a nice, normal, even angelic kid makes it all the more freaky. At least with Columbine you could kind of get it... NOT saying it was justified but you could see how they were picked on so they snapped, and maybe some of the characteristics that made them snap were the reasons they got picked on (not justifying picking on people).
It's much less scary when people say, "Yeah they were weirdos". Because if it isn't just weirdos, if its the "nice" kids too, then it could be anyone.
NicoleK at April 19, 2013 9:13 AM
According to my friends in Medford, MA., the power went out. It's back on in some parts of town. Not sure if its related.

Interesting roundup here:

There could have been much more mayhem - an explosive trigger was found on Tamerlan's carcass at the morgue.
This was the first-ever attack by Chechen militants on a Western target:

OK OK OK: NOW I GOT TO SAY THIS IS TOTALLY FUCKING SURREAL. I know this kid Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, Not only did he graduate only last year from CRLS!!!!-- I took countless photographs of him on the wrestling team. And friends, here is the kicker. ( You know how they say to reporters when ask did you know the perpetrator?: "I knew this kid. He could not possibly have done this. He could not have been a sweeter more gracious young man." I cannot believe he was capable of such a heinous crime and of so many murders. Truth be told he came from the war zone deep inside Chechnya like about 5 or 6 years ago...with his entire family. Im learning that his older brother is the one shot dead last night. The family lives like three houses down from me on Norfolk Street. and now our whole block is cordoned off with yellow tape and we are living in a crime scene. When I was quoting that the war has come home yesterday to everyone, I did not mean it like this!!!!!! As the old hebrew expression goes. You got to be fucking kidding me... (BUT THEY ARE NOT)
NicoleK at April 19, 2013 9:41 AM
I understand (which doesn't mean condone) the Chechneyan Rebel Movement given the violent suppression of their people, but why the fuck would you attack innocent Americans?? We didn't have anything to do over in Chechnya, and if they were looking to draw attention to their cause, they just made about 300 million new enemies. Pissed off and well armed enemies.
Eric at April 19, 2013 10:10 AM
War fucks people up, especially kids. That's all I've got right now.
MonicaP at April 19, 2013 10:14 AM
From the live feed and stories it seems like not only are the brothers insanely violent, but the sister and father are completely screwy, angry, and paranoid.
Now add this to the mix:
"Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said ... any blame lay at the feet of the United States. "It's all America's fault because these kids were brought up in America, not Chechnya," he said, according to Kommersant newspaper." (CNN)
Can we please get a program of forced repatriation going?

We aren't innocent under Islam. We're infidels, and the Quran commands we be converted or killed or at least shamed and taxed heavily as third-class citizens. (Jizya)
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Quran/004-jizya.htm
Qur'an (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

He's half right - if he meant to say Angel of Death.

To drive home what Amy posted above Dzhokhar Tsarnaev placed his bomb right behind eight year old Martin Richard (killed), and his six year old sister (maimed). Pic is below.
He had to see them. How and why could he walk right behind an eight & six year old and drop a bomb.? I think Amy nailed it above.
Not the best quality.

Exactly. I don't understand how you could bomb anyone. But I just can't understand how he could drop that bomb behind kids. I can't comprehend what type of mind it takes to see those kids and still drop your bomb.
I'm enraged thinking about that picture.

Ghost town Boston in pictures:
http://boston.barstoolsports.com/random-thoughts/eerie-pictures-of-boston-as-a-ghost-town-today/
The Chechen terrorists these guys idolized were responsible for Beslan, so dropping that bomb behind kids was no big deal.
Martin at April 19, 2013 2:01 PM
An aside topic to this:
Not advocating for the terrorists, but what were they thinking when they stayed in Boston? There was a criminal investigation going on that made 9/11/01 investigation look like it had been assigned to a cold case squad. They know the area was littered with cameras.
They should have per-bought round trip tickets to some country like Egypt or Russia out of an airport about an hour away. Then after the bombing, went home, cleaned up, and then flown out of the country.
What did they think -- they would be praised?

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is in custody:

Martin at April 19, 2013 6:06 PM
It's over now.
Jim P, I know. Maybe they thought they could hide it out? Maybe they had some grand finale planned in which they would blow themselves and a major target up? Come to think of it, why didn't Dzhokhar blow himself up?
Hopefully it means he didn't get training from somewhere else.
NicoleK at April 19, 2013 7:49 PM
Not a ticket to Russia though. Can't imagine the Russians being too sympathetic.
NicoleK at April 19, 2013 7:50 PM
The idea is less than 8-12 hours on an aircraft. You are trapped on an aircraft. But if you fly from NYC to Moscow you are on the ground at about the eight hour mark. From Moscow, your surface options are numerous. The trip surface-wise to Saint Petersburg is about 400 miles.
Think of it this way. Plan a route between NYC and L.A. Then try to find the the other hundred people doing the same route and the person who wants to go via Texas and the one who is going to stop in San Francisco. Would you be spotted by you state highway patrol?
