Maybe you have no idea of the state of the arts in investigating the history of Man. See Darwiniana.
Don't forget to scroll down. There's a LOT to see there.

Maybe you think Iraq didn't have any weapons of mass destruction - a political term, actually, since Americans routinely endure the presence of same on their railways and streets as they are part and parcel of an advanced, industrialized nation.
Maybe you don't know how many atom bombs and nuclear weapons tests there have been.
But don't miss that Israel actually bombed Iraq's nuclear weapons program.

One thing that critically handicaps people in evaluating information is their ignorance of the difference between a measurement and a standard.
Remember this: Every measurement has a degree of uncertainty. This is true even if you count it personally as inconsequential, such as in a measurement of your height.
Confusion about this abounds, even appearing in popular advertising of precision machinery such as firearms. A clearance between machined parts is a measurement, which is uncertain. A tolerance is a standard, a definition, which is fixed.
Some standards are truly obscure. You can find them here. While you may not have a need to know what a Bohr magnetron is, the plain fact that a standard for one is needed suggests that the physical sciences are a bit more advanced than is advertised on television.
Okay: Maybe you have a problem with some mythology not being consistent. See The Skeptic's Annotated Bible

"I thought you were kidding or maybe Onioning. You are not."
Unfortunately for us all it seems to be true. I guess we'll get the full details soon ...
