I feel a rant coming on, and I'm trying to head it off. It's like this -- middle daughter is a senior in high school this year, and she's starting her college applications, which, as you know, come with essay questions. I don't remember doing essays when I was applying to college decades ago, but I don't think they were used as much back then. One of the questions was "What's your favorite word?" Another proudly went on about this particular school's quirks, and what were the applicants favorite quirks?
I thought a lot of the questions were stupid. Naomi Schaefer Riley at Bloomberg seems to agree.
There, I feel better now.

Biggest loser: the AIG CEO who compared criticism of AIG bonuses to deep-south lynchings or the politician who demands his resignation for being a clueless assmunch?
