The late Bea Arthur, remembered as one of the great comedic actresses of our time with signature roles such as Maude, could bust out the dramatic chops when needed. As Dorothy Zbornak of "Golden Girls," she confronts Stanley, the ex-husband who walked out on her.

Patrick, that show killed me! That was one of the best ensemble casts I can think of.
Oh, here's something you don't see every day. Did you know there's a country in Central Asia called Tajikistan? Here's a song by one a Tajik pop diva named Shabnam Suraya. "Shabnam," my middle daughter tells me, is the Tajik Persian word for "dew."

A life of adventure, now ended. I'd never heard of this man, but the Telegraph is a good source for lots of things, including fascinating obituaries.

I'm curious, has this ever happened to someone else here?
Last night I had a dream about an incident that happened about 12 years ago. We had a nice little condo in downtown Spokane that we loaned to my ex-wife's daughter for a couple months, and she turned it into a crack den and trashed the place. It was really, really bad, as bad as you can imagine.
In my mind there was such a rage that I woke up with my heart racing, and I couldn't get back to sleep. The thing is, 5 or 6 hours later, and I still have this absolute rage in me. I haven't even returned any phone calls yet today. The only thing I can relate it to is PTSD, though I don't want to compare it to a soldier's experience.
McAFEE: Well, here's the problem -- it's not something software can solve. I mean, what idiot put this system out there and did not create a central depository? There should be one website, run by the government, you go to that website and then you can click on all of the agencies. This is insane. So, I will predict that the loss of income for the millions of Americans who are going to lose their identities -- I mean, you can imagine some retired lady in Utah, who has $75,000 dollars in the bank, saving her whole life, having it wiped out one day because she signed up for Obamacare. And believe me, this is going to happen millions of times. This is a hacker's wet dream. I cannot believe that they did this.
PTSD is not a soldier's experience only. It can happen to anyone who's experienced a stressful situation.
However, I would hesitated to call it PTSD, because one incident doth not a disorder make. However, if you had similar experiences over a period of time... I'm not the expert, but what you describe is a classic symptom.
Jim P., that's absolutely terrifying.

I agree Patrick. I've just never experienced anything like it before. I woke up more enraged than I think I have ever experienced awake, actually worried I was having a heart attack. Then my brain couldn't just walk away from it, even knowing it was a dream.
It took a toll on my body- everything hurts today.

I am sorry you're experiencing that, Eric. And the horrible experience that prompted it. To answer your question, I can't sleep a full night and never could.
And never will be able to. I understand what you're going through. And I hope you had your ex-step daughter thrown in jail and sued for damages.

I'm guessing, Eric, that you had that rage at your former daughter-in-law for all these years, and it finally came up to the surface when you dreamed about her. In the meantime, this one's for Amy:

There was a period of time in my life that I was driving a beater that I couldn't get the brakes adjusted correctly by me or anyone else. I dreaded any sudden stop. My back hurt for a month. Then I finally found the issue to my back and my brakes. The brakes had a fifth bleed valve that no one knew about.
The back problem was caused because the adrenal glands are located over the kidneys. So when the adrenal glands kick in they naturally tense up every muscle in the body, the farthest muscles the last. So a minor adrenal reaction they will affect your back first and your toes last. But your whole body will tense up at some point.
The other reaction to adrenaline is that it will cause your body to burn sugar at a heightened rate. So if you ate at 6PM and then went to bed, it is going to try to process fat to glucose. So if your sugar is low, you are also go to feel like crap as well.
That it came in a dream means you are going to have to make a decision that you can live with. Either give in and no longer care, or try to find an acceptable resolution.

Wow Jim, thanks for the info. You may have hit the nail on the head. I haven't seen or heard from her in a decade, so luckily that is resolved.
