Obamacare: Wave Bye-Bye To Low-Cost Health Insurance At Community Colleges
From CBS New York:
Many students have found themselves in health care limbo this semester. Community colleges in New Jersey used to offer cheap health insurance for hundreds of dollars a year but they had to drop the practice because Federal Law prohibits the sale of bare bones policies.Under the Affordable Care Act it would have cost more to run the program and the cost would have been passed on to students.
"More than a thousand dollars per student and that is dramatically different," said Union County Community College, Vice President of Administrative Services, Stephen Nacco said.
Students like Carlos Arias depended on the low-cost health care.
"I'm kind of healthy right now but I am worried that when something happens I'm not going to go to the hospital," Arias said.
The result, from the subhead: "Some students have been left without insurance."

And now those students (or their parents) will have to pay a tax penalty on income that they don't have.

I think this is missing the point. Some guy can say "you can only do this" and people accept it? What's next? "It's unfair to have more then two cars", then, "It's unfair to have cars with more than four cylinders", then, "It's unfair to have cars, that's why we have public transport".

This happened to #1 and she's in her last year of school. I just pray that nothing happens to her until she can get a job! I'm not in a position to help her, and forget about her father. He can't even help himself. This just sucks.

Well, they can stay on their parents plan until they're 26, so I don't see what the problem is.
Oh, wait, their parents don't have coverage? or they kicked the kid off because it was cheaper to go with the provided bare-bones offerings from their college?
Huh.

If I remember correctly, that age cohort voted massively for President Obama. Enjoy!

The Ministry of Truth is warming up their airbrushes. Expect all stories about "you can keep it" to disappear from MSM sites in a week.

Most people get about the government they deserve; it's the rest of us who have to come along for the ride who are screwed.

This is easy.
If they are not on their parents insurance still, all these students, the college WAS covering, will now be receiving medicaid.

Hell, we can just add it onto your student loan and then you can do community service work after you graduate. There's more than one way to make a Socialist.
