Uh, yeah, Gretch. They do have the right to buy cigarettes. But there's no law that requires drug stores to carry them. And you were just fine with drug stores refusing to sell the "morning after" pill.
People also have the right to purchase beer in restaurants (assuming they're of age and not obviously intoxicated). That doesn't mean that McDonald's has to start carrying it. (Although in Germany, McDonald's does sell beer.)
Could it be because the President actually praised CVS for doing this that has you up in arms? No, of course not. It's all about the principle.
