Your good deed for the day: Help Aden Knar

Please help 10 year old Aden Knar. Aden was first diagnosed with leukemia when he was 4 years old. Aden relapsed in November of 2013 and is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.

His parents, siblings and 20 million members in the worldwide donor bank are not a match.

Close matches were found in Germany, suggestive of a German ancestry so Austrian and German donors of that heritage would be very helpful.

Aden went into heart failure last week from the intense chemotherapy and amazingly re-bounded with the spirit of a 10 year old. He is still in ICU at the Children’s Hospital in Denver.

Basically the cost to register is $0. They send you a cotton swab, you rub it inside your cheek and sent it back in a prepaid envelope.

And if you are a match it will cost you nothing. The recipients insurance will pay the cost of the marrow extraction. Most will even pay for your time off work if that is needed (a day at most).

And even if you can't help this kid out, you will be remembered if there is a future match.
