So the other day I jokingly offered a link to this video, which seemed likely to push Amy's buttons, given her politics and feelings about wellness.
But it has the power to break your heart as well, certainly... Especially the anecdote about the Beltway driver. Yes, your government employees ARE that smug. They ARE that eager to reduce policy to motionless simplifications, especially when they themselves are well-paid and unthreatened.
The idea that costs of this kind should be exposed, and that their choices (or failures to choose) have consequences, has been hounding me. Nothing better describes the Obama years: In his first term, he literally spent more time fundraising than his last five predecessors put together. Meanwhile, events and technocracies were untended and unraveling.
We should all think about ways to hold our government accountable for its inability to act, and to encourage the improvement which people and markets will naturally bring to our lives.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Uh-oh, a sorority's in trouble! Apparently, their display of school spirit was wholly inappropriate, and what's worse, referenced a forbidden school nickname, albeit indirectly. Timing and placement seem to have been a problem, too.
Okay, I get that the school nickname offended some people, and I applaud our present-day efforts at cultural sensitivity. But they haven't come up with a new name for their teams yet. Further, the whole damned state's named after a Sioux word. Maybe the renaming should start there.

Y'know, I like naked women. My favorite women across 5½ decades of life on Earth have spent an important percentage of their time with me being naked, and that includes the first woman I ever saw.
But internet pornography —which is, let's face it, the core economic engine which powers this global communications conveyance— would be a lot more tolerable if you didn't have to imagine a weeping, bitter divorcée every time someone mentioned it.
I like the free expression of ideas, as well. Perhaps I've mentioned this on here at some point.

Re revenge porn.
It just another example of the infantilization of women.
Think about it a woman gift he picture to a guy and thy break up and he's a jerk and posts it online and it should be illegal because the girl doesnt like it
Meanwhile if she were to dig his sperm out of the trash courts have on a number of occasions ruled that the sperm is a gift and the guy is on the hook for 18-26 years worth of child support

Why I draw a distinction between liberals and leftists. Because, really, they aren't the same thing at all.

Does it matter?
Also, Michelle Goldberg is repellent.

Apparently, the flow of logic is as follows:
Feeling uncomfortable equals --
Feeling unsafe, which equals --
Being a victim of terrorism!
Trigger Warning: Mention of Triggers, which seem to be bad.

I'll just give you the location of the source material: The Liberty Amendments.
I would also refer you to the Article Five Convention site.

America's the best. Wanna hear a great little piano solo? Just four modest verses, after a faux-exotic intro:
Kansas City kicks Lahore's Emo Ass.

Is that like drawing a distinction between neo-nazis and skinheads?
