It's a twofer. They keep crazed Tea Baggers from assaulting both the former First Lady of the United States of America and the former Secretary of State of the United States of America.

Sort of like keeping an eye on Nancy Reagan. Sure, she's just hanging out with her astrologer and a ouija board, but you never know when Keith Olbermann might swing through the window on a microphone cord and criminally interview her.

That happened to a guy once.

No. But if there's a reason to admire Nixon after his disgrace, it was the relative speed with which he surrendered the protection of the Secret Service. (Ten years or so, IIRC.) On the other hand, Ford milked that labor for everything he could get... Every bit of luggage-toting and door-opening.

Re: Nancy, point taken. None of the people who hated her & Ronnie the most have maintained their anger, they now hate Boosh or someone.
