Sri Lankan Buddhist Explains The Quran
He points out that political leaders just don't get it, and explains the reality of what the Quran commands:
Taqiyya, that he mentions several times, is religiously-permitted lying for the good of Islam.

I looked up "taqiyya" on Wikipedia. As the entry explains it, taqiyya is a Shi'ite doctrine which permits a believer to deny his religion or violate its strictures when he's under duress. That sounds ethically reasonable to me.
The article also mentions another interpretation of taqiyya, as an obligation to conceal the mysteries of Shi'ism from non-Shi'ites. That's annoying to the uninitiated but curious, but hardly unusual for a religion.

Taqiyya is one philosophy of which our government has been aggressively multi-culti. It doesn't hesitate to lie for the greater good of the peasants, and the good of the wise leaders currently in power.
