My Book, "Good Manners for Nice People Who Sometimes Say F*ck," Is Out Today
Here's a quote from the Neighborhood chapter, which, I hope reflects that the book is realistic and practical.
Yes, I know your impulse is to leave the poo with a little pink bow on top on your neighbor's step.
Mine, too.
If you want to avoid cage-fighting the neighbor in the Homeowners' Association gazebo, best to start with the note I suggest below.
As you can see, it's a manners book for regular people, and it's also funny. I hope you like it. Please buy a copy if you haven't already!
The book is discounted from the $14.99 retail price to only $9.48 at Amazon and $9.67 at Barnes & Noble.
Come to my book launch party tonight! If you live close to LA, it would be so wonderful to meet some of you, especially longtime blog commenters. There's a book launch party/reading at Diesel Books in Brentwood, at the Brentwood County Mart, on Tuesday, June 3, 6:30-8pm.
Come a little early! Wine and snacks will be served (thank you, Gregg!).
Please invite people!
Diesel Books, Brentwood Country Mart, 225 26th Street, Suite #33, Santa Monica CA 90402, (310) 576-9960

If you are in Canada, the book is under $13 at Chapters/Indigo and there is no minimum shipping charge for today and tomorrow.

I'd scoop it up and put it on their car. In their car if thy left it unlocked.

YES. I've been spitting mad at neighbors before, but they have a lot of power to make your life miserable. Plus, if they feel attacked, they won't feel inspired to change their behavior. So it's best to engage with politeness from the first. Giving them the benefit of the doubt gives them an easy way out to change AND keep their pride. It's great advice I constantly see in Miss Manners' columns, too.
Also... HAPPY BOOKDAY!

My copy arrived today! I've read the first two chapters.

Well, Amy, I boosted your sales even more than I intended -- I accidentally ordered not one, but two copies from Amazon.com! Ah well, I'll just have to find a lucky recipient. Semi-neglected my children after I got home from work in order to read some of it, but they didn't seem to mind as they raced around outside. Nice work!

Wish I could have gone Amy, I would have loved to have met you in person.
As to the book-it's funny but that is a given.
I needed something like this as I'm dealing with an immature 54 year old woman who wants to be my best bud. I can't tell her to fuck off because her boss is my future client (and I like having fantasies about banging him).

Just bought it for Kindle! Looking forward to reading it while tying up the neighbor dog's poo in pink bows. ;)
