I would have liked to have been able to post something further about Nicholas Lord, the disgusting pig in our Navy who threatened a new recruit with rape. But, alas, there's no new developments yet. Just that the Navy is investigating. Although there is some new information about Lord's rank and where he's from.
Smug looking individual, isn't he?
If you missed the story that I posted in Amy's link thread yesterday, and you're at all interested, the salient points are all in this story.

Don't go in the water? Ha! Don't even take a walk along the edge of the water!

Now here's a magnitude of disrespect and spitefulness I haven't seen directed at a President before. Because Obama seemingly cares about environmental issues, some people are intentionally altering their trucks to spit some extra black smoke into the air.
The article calls them conservatives, but I would hesitate to use that term. "Assholes" seems more appropriate. Maybe we should tell them that Obama is also a staunch opponent of suicide.
Okay, unless I see something very interesting today, that's all I'm going to post. Sorry if it seemed like I was trying to dominate the discussion.

Patrick: "Now here's a magnitude of disrespect and spitefulness I haven't seen directed at a President before."
Now, Patrick, that's good for a laugh!

Patrick post some followups to that Navy story if anything develops in the future. I had not seen that, it's disturbing.

I intend to follow that story as much as I can, gooseegg, and I will share it here. The only problem is, if this is handled non-judicially, there may not be anything more to add. Non-judicial punishments don't become public record. If he's court-martialed, then yes, it will become public knowledge. A friend of mine, who did serve as an attorney in the military, seems to think that it's likely he will be court-martialed.
And I agree. It's disturbing. Not just the fact that he made that comment, but he seems to think that the outraged responses were just a big joke.

I don't think things will work out well for the petty officer. Even if he accepts Article 15 (non-judicial) punishment, he'll likely not teach again, and probably won't be retained.
And if the Navy follows the precedent the USAF set a couple years ago, this thing won't go away.

We need to write to Steven Spielberg and condemn his disgusting big-game hunting!
I can't believe he killed that beautiful animal.
Gog_Magog_Carpet_Reclaimers at July 12, 2014 9:21 AM
LOL! Gog, I saw that on Facebook and I think it's hilarious.
He's posing with a fake triceratops (the last of which died out 66 million years ago) and people just assume it's an animal he killed.

"A busy NYC restaurant kept getting bad reviews for slow service, so they hired a firm to investigate. When they compared footage from 2004 to footage from 2014, they made some pretty startling discoveries"
