"We're Here, We're Severe, Get Used To It"
Mark Steyn via AEI's Mark J. Perry. That passage from Steyn:
To camouflage oneself in the jungles of suburban America, one should be clothed in Dunkin' Donuts and Taco Bell packaging. A soldier wears green camouflage in Vietnam to blend in. A policeman wears green camouflage in Ferguson to stand out - to let you guys know: We're here, we're severe, get used to it.

This is from our media friend who got arrested at McDonald's the other night.
Lefties always get into trouble when they talk about weapons. Instead of conveying the certitude of their righteousness, they show the childlike depth of their ignorance.
He'll probably take that tweet down in a few hours, but someone surely has it saved to disk. He'll never live this down, and he shouldn't.

I was going to comment that they look like ear plugs to me, Crid. But I see several thousand people have beaten me to it.
'Tis no matter. I have no Twitter account anyway, and am determined never to have one.
Regarding the complaints about police presence and curfew in Ferguson, all I can say is, "Boo-fucking-hoo."
The police did not force the "peaceful protestors" to take up looting and vandalism. They organized in response to it. They don't like being treated like thugs? They shouldn't act like them.

Crid is correct. He's not going to live it down.
You know. I don't know what rubber bullets look like, either. So, you know what I did? I did a Bing search for "rubber bullets picture" and I found one!

Either way the police are now using military tactics for even the minor things. I believe a SWAT team was used to server a summons on a woman who had bought three boxes of sudafed in a week.
That should have been a cop walking up to her door, knocking and handing her the warrant and having her sign something. Not a no knock team breaking her door in.

Balko: Last year, St. Louis County PD confirmed it serves *every* search warrant with a SWAT team, regardless of the crime

Yes, THAT Gellman. He did a little research.

Great idea.
Several years ago, when the L.A. blog scene was just taking off, Volhok took a bunch of bloggers to the firing range. The immigrant needed to defuse the native's fear of their Second Amendment.
