The wing commander at Ramstein Air Base, Germany has lifted the barracks alcohol ban which had been in place for nearly a year and a half.
I'm trying to get my head around this, just a little. When I was in college eons ago, we had a dry campus, but flouting the ban wasn't too difficult and the consequences of being caught weren't too severe. I suspect things were a little tougher at Ramstein.
As another data point, a sidebar to the linked article tells us that airmen newly assigned to Korea are required to abstain for their first 30 days on station.

I told my kids I'd be happy to do the bucket thing after I liked the Kony 2012 video and after I sent a weapons-grade hashtag to Boko Haram. But they always thought I was grumpily misanthropic anyway.

What are you people doing up this time of day? Purp, aren't you in Cali?
I'd like to think you were up to watch practice for the Belgian Grand Prix.
