The Baltimore Ravens have fired running back Ray Rice. The sacking appears to be in response to new video footage of him knocking out his fiancée in Atlantic City. Money quote is about halfway down the page:
The Ravens promptly terminated Rice’s contract on Monday and [NFL Commissioner Roger] Goodell, ever in pursuit of a stainless suit-coat, reopened the case and suspended Rice indefinitely under his revised policy on domestic assault, given this graphic “new” evidence. But really, what did Goodell and the Ravens think a professional football player knocking his wife unconscious looked like?

I am a monster that the CEO kicking the dog video bothered me more than the Rice video.

Ppen, that's probably because you are assuming his fiance/wife had a choice in being with her attacker, whereas the dog did not.
My assumption was, she was willing to put up with what she put up with, in return for getting what she was getting. So sad for her that he's now not going to be raking in the money she expected to have. I will probably go to hell for thinking that way, because, domestic abuse.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington report finds that Obama's Justice Department doesn't really want to prosecute our corrupt Congresscritters.

In other NFL news, today's Instapundit links to a WaPo editorial recommending Condoleezza Rice as the next NFL Commissioner.

That's what happens when we hope for change instead of demand it.

Today Mrs. Rice is upset her husband lost his gig for knocking her out cold. To paraphrase Jim Carrey, "Hit me again, Ray!"
And this time put some STANK on it!

Great news, Amy! They're chasing those peckerheads right out of the schoolyard!

Here is a problem we in North America may consider ourselves fortunate not to have to face. This particular problem weighed in at about 4,000 pounds.
And there are still a lot of them around, waiting.

Interesting book review about the decline of the US middle class and coming Third World status - as heralded by California.
