Proudly Defacing Our National Parks
I've got a thing for civilization, and mostly stay ensconced in it, but I understand that people who go out into nature want to see nature and not be forced to see somebody's "art" mucking it up.
Well, per Modern Hiker's Casey Schreiner, a woman took it upon herself to go all "Kilroy was here" with acrylic paints, sticking her "art" up on rock faces and such all over the great outdoors:
Casey Nocket ... had traveled to the west coast from New York for a few weeks. Ms. Nocket had been enjoying her time in the outdoors so much that she decided to document her trip on Instagram. And apparently Nocket was so moved by all the natural beauty she saw that she just had to paint all over it.

Following from that blog to the news article, the quote from the uncle about his talented, misunderstood niece was telling.
Sounds like spoiledbratartist@nycselfabsorbedposeur needs a Federally-funded ass-kicking.

I spend a lot of time hiking and camping; and while I understand those like you who would rather not be there; I truly enjoy my time with friends out in nature. And we like it as nature.
Therefore, there are no better words to describe this woman other than "self-centered bitch." For she is like a dog marking its territory.
There is no penalty good enough for her and others who think the rest of us want to enjoy her "art."

Interesting dilemma for leftists... do they sic Gaia on her, or get her an NEA grant?

Oh, Charles, I've got a punishment that fits the crime.
Make her go back and clean up each and every spot she defaced. On her own time and dime.
Much like a person who proposes to carry a cat by its tail, she'll learn a lesson that grows neither dim, nor doubtful.

As I noticed on the article, along with a lot of the commenters, the art is downright terrible. She's trying to compare herself to Banksy when she has nowhere near that level of artistic ability. I'm not saying it's okay for Banksy to deface our national parks, but this woman appears to just wants to reach that level of notoriety without working as hard.

Got to agree with the "self-centered bitch." not just doing it but effectively signing it and posting pictures of you doing it.
She probably feels she is improving it, and rules shouldn't apply to artists. Sad.

I can't stand people like this. She needs to spend some serious time cleaning up graffiti, starting with her own.
