Get Last Night's "Science News You Can Use" Podcast: Amy Alkon & Dr. Jennifer Verdolin With A Scientific Look On How You Can Flirt Like A Master
This is a new, very special every-other-week show -- "Science News You Can Use" Radio -- with science-based advice columnist and author Amy Alkon and animal behaviorist Dr. Jennifer Verdolin laying out science news you can use to solve your relationship problems or just improve your relationships and have a better life.
(And yes, I will still be doing shows on the best behavioral science books on weeks in between. This coming Sunday, I have Dr. Beth Montemurro discussing her book on women's sexual evolution.)
Here's the enlightening show Dr. Verdolin and I taped last night on flirting. It turns out that flirting is anything but frivolous. In fact, understanding the science of flirting and mastering the most powerful techniques is the way to both get love in your life and have it stick around. Tune in to find out all the moves you'll need.

And don't forget to buy our science-based, fun, funny, and illuminating books -- support our show while entertaining yourself and learning a thing or two to improve your life.
Amy's new book is "Good Manners for Nice People Who Sometimes Say F*ck."
Jennifer's is "Wild Connection: What Animal Courtship and Mating Tell Us about Human Relationships."

I have to say -- as a person who's always worried about doing enough to put out work that's good, worthy of being read/heard, etc. -- I'm very proud of this show.
Jennifer and I have worked together on creating a show and figuring out how to work together, and I feel we kind of hit our stride on this one. There are areas where we can improve, but I love doing the show with her and I hope we can take this somewhere and get paid for doing this. (It's increasingly important for those of us who earn a living with our ideas, especially our ideas in print, to find new ways to get paid.)
I hope you'll listen to this show. And sorry for not posting it on Sunday before the show. I have a new assistant who just started, plus I just turned in revised materials for my next book to my agent to send to my publisher, blah blah blah. So I've been a little behind. But I hope to get the show posted on Sunday in time for people to hear it from now on! And it's just as good in podcast, so please give a listen!

I'm going to check out Jennifer's new book. I already read Amy's, love it, and highly recommend it. I just read another book I highly recommend for entirely different reasons. The Terrorist's Son was such an antidote to the terrible news in the world. I posted about it recently. http://yakkityyaktalkingback.com/2014/10/27/unbelievable-i-found-some-good-news/

Holly, thank you so much! And a note -- even wee reviews help, when you like a book. If it's not a big deal/imposition, please consider posting a review at Amazon.
