I think it's ridiculous that the woman should have to pay 50K out of pocket merely because the ambulance took her to the wrong one.
Speaking of ridiculous, the Food Babe just proved she hasn't an ounce of scientific credibility.
Doubtless due to the scorn and ridicule she faced for her unbelievably ignorant remarks, she took the article down...but not before someone archived it.
Note the following warning she gives about air quality on the airplane.
The air you are breathing on an airplane is recycled from directly outside of your window. That means you are breathing everything that the airplanes gives off and is flying through. The air that is pumped in isn’t pure oxygen either, it’s mixed with nitrogen, sometimes almost at 50%. To pump a greater amount of oxygen in costs money in terms of fuel and the airlines know this! The nitrogen may affect the times and dosages of medications, make you feel bloated and cause your ankles and joints swell.
Those of us who have had a grade-school science education knows that the air we breathe is around 78% nitrogen and less than 21% oxygen, not "pure oxygen" like she seems to think it should be.
I thought this was really terrible. This poor woman was responsible and had insurance, and because of an unfortunate event she was taken (while unconscious) to the wrong hospital, as it was out of network, and now faces financial ruin: http://www.channel3000.com/news/woman-taken-to-wrong-hospital-faces-bankruptcy/29648000
What do people think, how do you protect yourself from something like this?
