Poor Emma Holten, attractive blonde young woman with a graceful figure, took some nude pictures of herself.
You know what happens next. Any story that begins with nude photographs continues with how these nudes were acquired by the wrong people. Her email and Facebook were hacked (she doesn't know by whom) and rampant distribution of the photos ensued. Worse, those who knew Emma personally (and again, she doesn't seem to know who) were able to contribute some real life information to accompany the photos, such as her name, place of employment, her parents, siblings etc., and she some found herself on the receiving end of some nasty and lecherous emails by the drooling perverts.
But she found a solution to this problem! She simply took some more nudes and distributed them voluntarily. Because, you know, it's all about the choice. "Consent is key," she says.
Now, I'll share my own thoughts about the stupid bitch.
She opens her monologue with a rhetorical question, "Who should be able to see you naked? Do you think you deserve a say?"
Well, if she feels that way, she might have refrained from taking nudes in the first place. Unless she's impossibly vain, the only reason to take any type of picture of yourself (nude or clothed) is to share with someone else. And once someone else gets them, you have relinquished control.
She then decides to go off on a tangent about non-consensual pornography, and hilariously concludes that this wasn't about her, but about "hatred of women."
I beg to differ. I would regard a man who finds himself in this position, having the nerve to whine about his right to choose who sees him naked after having nudes taken, to be every bit as stupid as her.
But the magnitude of her lack of sensitivity comes at the end of the video, when she makes a profoundly idiotic and thoughtless comparison: "Just as rape and sex have nothing to do with each other, pictures shared with and without this consent are completely different things."
So just as voluntarily releasing nudes somehow mitigates the angst caused by involuntarily-released nudes, a rape victim should just seek out her rapist and have consensual sex with him. Undoubtedly, this would make the rape easier to cope with.
No? Why not? That's the logic she's applying.
Well, if releasing nudes voluntarily makes her feel better, I suppose...
I'll paraphrase a saying commonly (though probably inaccurately) attributed to Abraham Lincoln: "'Tis better to remain silent and be thought a dumb bitch, than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Phooey. The link I posted is broken. Oh, well. I guess you guys are just going to have to miss out on Emma's video, complete with some nude photographs that she is voluntarily distributing.
Disagree Patrick. She took a stand and fought back against a personal attack. Good for her.
Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with her method does not degrade her point. People have a right to have and express an opinion.
The point is that she took a stand and voiced her reasoning. That is being honest not deceptive and certainly not stupid.

1. she isnt that hot, I'm guessing the "stolen" pics were leaked
2. I've developed a system for whether or not I, or anyone, should feel bad about her pictures being stolen.
Has she ever said about any guys duped or forced into parenthood unwillingly that they should have kept it in their pants if they werent prepared for the possibility?
Bob in Texas: Disagree Patrick. She took a stand and fought back against a personal attack. Good for her.
Well, if that was fighting back, it was ineffectual. She did absolutely no damage whatsoever to those who were harassing her. In fact, she gave them exactly what they wanted: more nudes of herself.
And her self-righteous indignation about who should be allowed to see her naked rings terribly hollow in light of the fact that she took nudes of herself in the first place. That's a pretty dumb thing to do. How many people need to have nude photos of themselves leaked before we realize that, if you value your privacy, it's stupid to take nudes.
And what level of dumbassery does it take for her to conclude that it's about hatred of women? A man in her position would be just as stupid.
I think it's more about hatred of stupid people. "Oh, dear! Oh, my! My naked pictures have been leaked all over the place! Woe is me!"
Then why did you allow naked pictures of yourself to be made in the first place?

Patrick, fighting back is rarely effective beyond immediate survival and never justifies the dumb ass decisions made beforehand.
She did something. A little whine. Stopped being a victim. That's all. Good for her. It's not about you.

Ummm... I don't look at pictures of women, whatever the content, to "victimize" them in any way. I don't hate some anonymous woman either. In fact, I know enough to realize that I can't hate a stranger - even one covered by the press - because I don't have anything real to base hatred on!
What you let out there, by way of photos, is up to you, not to me. Can't stop the signal, however much you may want to blame some anonymous person or group for looking at what YOU EXPOSED.

No, actually, she didn't stop being a victim. In fact, she arrived at the nonsensical conclusion that the feedback she experienced was due to "hatred of women."
Far from no longer being a victim, she clad herself firmly in the victim mantle, and regardless of how many nudes she decides to release to the ether, that mantle won't be coming off any time soon.

Remember how one day we all voted to protect the Super Bowl instead of our border?
