Says who?
Seriously, who said that to you?
No.
You're to do your own study until you know what you're talking about.

> (R), vaccines cause (wait for it)

Item!: Kentucky is annoying.
I had a great holiday with the family at Mammoth Cave when I was about 11, but that was as good as it ever got. Other than that, it seems to be more of Indiana without Indiana's redeeming features, which we're going to have to discuss at some other time.
Item!: Rand Paul is annoying.
It's been a policy here to never pay any attention to either of the Pauls, because people who do often come back all pissed off, and if you don't pay attention to them you can maintain an important measure of libertarian credibility. (…I presume. There's been no reason to test the presumption.)
Item!: "Wait for it" is annoying.
It always was, but that's why I liked it for 20 minutes of June 1998, which was a time of our lives many years ago. Y'know, fashions change.
Anyone who doubts the effectiveness of vaccines, or the current vaccine schedule, has no basic understanding of the immune system or biology in general (I'm not knocking people, it's simple fact. Look at how many 20 and 30 somethings literally have No Clue how to prevent pregnancy. Biology is a pathetically undertaught subject).
Our immune system is made to handle many, many more challenges on a daily basis than it typically gets in a year in most of the US and other developed countries. You know what a bored immune system does? It invents threats-internal and external. Antivaccers will have us back to an era where 50% of babies did not survive to adulthood. And then they'll blame cat dander, or something equally idiotic, for THAT. I'll allow people a lot of stupidity-I certainly have plenty of my own-but fighting against vaccines is simply unforgiveable. It's homicidal, and should be treated as such.
And don't get me started on the people-antivaccers, mostly-who say healthy eating is the reason most diseases have been eradicated, and the In The same Breath will rail against GMO's and the "unnatural" US diet. It makes me want to shoot them all.
Nurses tend to be really healthy. Know why? 1) we're required to be vaccinated for everything-maybe not for our job, but certainly for entry into nursing school. And 2) we're exposed to everything. Almost every hospital nurse who has been employed more than a year will swab positive for MRSA and a whole host of other bugs. Yet we don't get sick from them. Immune systems are amazing things-when the body isn't otherwise already run down.
Yes, our patients are already run down. Hence, gloves and other PPE as necessary. It's not just to protect us.

I think your word "homicidal" is about 20% too flavorful, but only that.

Full concurrence.
What's most offensive is when naked, selfish ego is used in place of learnedness and understanding. As in the link above: "My child is pure."
…That's animal savagery. Such people have no appreciation for the biological achievements that have made modern life happen, or for the cost of those achievements. Such people has no understanding of word "environment" in any context... biological, social, financial, or cultural. They have no awareness of their communication with the natural world. Such people are flatly ungrateful, and I can't imagine how they're to be forgiven for their stupidity.
If they're smart enough to turn on a computer or read a page of text, they have no excuse for not knowing how this works.
…And I've never known an anti-vaxxer who could (let alone would) compose even two short sentences about the mechanisms of evolution.
Roaring, thunderous insights about our nature have become common in my lifetime: These anti-vaxxers will happily ignore those revelations for the piddling delusion that their children are 'pure.'

Clearly, Obama campaigned for someone who is corrupt, ruthless and has financial ties to terrorists.

Medicine is wrong about low fat, statins, e-cigs, checkups, tonsilectomies and lobotomies, but I'm just to take their word on vaccines.
