Darth, that's why the Innocence Project no longer gets any media love... they were uncovering too many false rape convictions.

Via today's RealClearEducation, a follow-up on the sudden closure of Sweet Briar College in Virginia: a Washington Post article on signs that a given college is about to shut its doors. Key things to look at include bond rating, discount rate, and attendance trends.
Such knowledge might have helped this poor girl, or her parents. She had her heart set on Sweet Briar, applied nowhere else, was accepted, and found out only via Facebook the place was closing! Now it's too late to apply anywhere else. Say what you will about her college application strategy, but cripes, that kind of sucks.
