It seems that Dolce and Gabbona, despite being gay themselves, believe only in traditional marriage and rearing of children.
All well and good, until Dolce makes some unkind comments about the children themselves.
“You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that’s how it should be,” Dolce added. “I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog.”
Elton John took issue with his children, and others born of IVF, being called "synthetic," and announced that he would no longer be purchasing anything from Dolce and Gabanna.
"Fascist!" shrieked Gabanna.
Excuse me? Who's the facist, Mr. Synthetic Children?
But somehow, Young Conservates cries out with sobs that wrack their bodies and leave them helpless and prostrate on the floor, that liberals are just so intolerant of views that don't coincide with theirs! Oh, waaaaah!
I know. Isn't Elton John just so horrid for standing up for innocent children who have no control over how they come into the world?

Patrick, I have to admit that whole Elton John kerfuffle made my head hurt -- I couldn't figure out who said what to who.

Gay Fashion Designers, Dolce and Gabanna said, “We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one. … No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: Life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed.
“You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that’s how it should be. I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog.”
Elton John, who has children of his own, thanks to IVF, replied: “How dare you refer to my beautiful children as 'synthetic.' And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfil their dream of having children. Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again.”
Dolce and Gabbana replied: "Fascist!" to Elton John's remarks. Then Gabbana added, “I wasn’t expecting it. I wasn’t expecting it from someone like Elton John I used to think – and I stress ‘used to’ – was intelligent. What’s going on? You preach understanding. You preach tolerance. And then you put the knife in? All because someone else doesn’t see things your way? Is that supposed to be a democratic way of thinking? Enlightened? He’s ignorant, in the sense that he denies ways of seeing things that may not be his but are just as deserving of respect.”

Now here's an interesting piece of irony. Young Conservatives faults Elton John for calling for a boycott of Dolce and Gabbana's fashions.
