You realize how offensive it is to use "STEM" don't you?
It really hurts our art majors who have provided so much to our thriving economy including the artwork in an airliner's restroom, the artwork in the lobby of a hospital, the signs and copy in the ads lining our subways.
That's why we now recognize the innovative solutions based on science, math, technology and ART in STEAM fields.
STEAM is the new STEM, and we should be encouraging all children, especially girls, to take up careers in STEAM fields.
