Never gonna happen. Unless all "energy" resources are nationalized energy companies can sell their products to the highest bidder. Which preludes any form of isolationism from foreign markets

As long as I don't have to go through another round of gas rationing like I did in the '70's, it's okay.

I still don't believe that it's more "green" to buy oil/gas that was produced on the other side of the world and transported here by boat.
