I saw a thing posted that showed a common core math question that said "what is 5 + 5 + 5". The student's answer was "15", but was graded as a "-1" probably because it wasn't an estimate. I don't know the provenance of that image, so it could easily be a fake. But I can so totally see that as being true because "you didn't do it the 'correct' way".
But I do remember my multiplication table that I memorized in...4th grade? that is the 12x12 matrix. It has served me well over the 4+ decades since I memorized it.

And it seems that common core math was being used when the politicans agreed to fund city and state pension plans.
Instead, elected officials have used the budget as a re-election arsenal. Voters have been enticed with, as McKinney says, "short-term gratification of funneling more money into schools and other operational needs." State worker and union support was obtained by providing what some believe are overly generous pension promises without setting aside adequate funding to pay for these constitutionally guaranteed benefits.
This will end...badly.

The thing I like about Amy's blog is it pulls in all sorts
So I've got a question for the people I know who like to blame Republicans for all the world's, or at least America's, ills.
But first a little info
The House has been under the control of Democrats, since 1933, for 62 of the last 82 years. 76% of the time.
Likewise Democrats have controlled the senate for 62 of the last 82 years, again 76% of the time.
Of those 62 years democrats had control of both houses at the same time for 56 years, while republicans held control of both for only 14.
That is 68% democrats controlling both houses vs 17% republican controlling both, and 15% split control
During the last 82 years democrats have held the presidency 48 years or 56%
During the 56 years democrats held both houses they also held the presidency for 34 years, vs the 14 years republicans held both houses they also held the White House for 6 years.
Over the last eight decades this country has been run primarily by democrats wielding supreme political power 41% of the time, control of the presidency 56% of the time, total legislative control nearly 70% of the time, and control of either house 75% of the time
Control of government
D 56% v R 44% White house
D 76% v R 24% Senate
D 76% v R 24% House
D 68% v R 17% All of Congress
D 41% v R 07% All of Congress and the White House
Exactly. Reagan had nothing to do with bringing down the Berlin Wall. That was the result of Democrats in action, much like the killing of Bin Laden, landing on the Moon, and freeing the slaves.
Although I'm still an Independent. Billary just creeps me the f* out.

Another reason why Detroit is truely boned.
