What I find most interesting about this is not that "history got the Rosa Parks story wrong." None of this is new; it has been well know by most historians that Parks was a black activist.
It was really the NAACP, the Highland Folks School, and others, who changed the story to make Parks out to be some sort of meek and mild "just minding her own business" woman. That false background made for a more sympathetic character.
There were several cases before Parks' case that the NAACP decided to NOT take to court because those cases involved someone who had an arrest record (those folks weren't "criminals" in the sense of being bad, their arrests were for civil disobedience). The lawyers chose Parks' case because she had never been arrested for her activism; something that would also make her a more sympathetic character.
Here is what I find most interesting: A professor from CUNY, not the Ivy League, is the one publishing this. I guess those in the Ivy League are too busy making up stuff to be outraged about that they don't bother with the truth anymore.
So, maybe there is still hope that some in higher education are interested in the truth and still interested in educating the next generation about the truth.

Remember the Seattle CEO who decided to pay all his employees $70K/year? he may have something to hide, and a reporter for Bloomberg sussed out that reality may not jibe with the story being told (emphasis mine):
It’s a poignant story, one that I almost wrote. Until I realized Price knew more than he was letting on. The lawsuit couldn’t have been prompted by the pay raise—if anything, it may have been the other way around. And his salary before the big announcement was unusually high. As I read through the court record and media reports, I began to see how Price was writing his own origin myth one interview at a time. With what he says is a $500,000 book deal, he’s solidifying his place as the next do-gooder businessman, joining the CEOs of bigger companies, such as Zappos’s Tony Hsieh and Whole Foods Market’s John Mackey. In the process, he’s surely become the only credit card processing executive to be feted by Esquire, courted by literary agents, and swooned at by women on social media who declared him “yum.” But how it all happened is a little more complicated.
I wonder how those women will react upon reviewing his ex-wife's comments:
Price’s life may get more complicated the week of Dec. 7, when TEDx plans to post online a public talk by his former wife, who changed her last name to Colón. She spoke on Oct. 28 at the University of Kentucky about the power of writing to overcome trauma. Colón stood on stage wearing cerulean blue and, without naming Price, read from a journal entry she says she wrote in May 2006 about her then-husband. “He got mad at me for ignoring him and grabbed me and shook me again,” she read. “He also threw me to the ground and got on top of me. He started punching me in the stomach and slapped me across the face. I was shaking so bad.” Later in the talk, Colón recalled once locking herself in a car, “afraid he was going to body-slam me into the ground again or waterboard me in our upstairs bathroom like he had done before.”
Hmm, a black student was the one making threats against fellow black students.

Mark Steyn has a round up and was asked about the movement to criminalize "hate" speech:
On the radio this morning, Michael Graham asked me about recent polls finding that 40 per cent of millennials think "hate speech" should be criminalized and nearly a third of Democrats feel the same way about dissent from "climate change" orthodoxy. And that's why John Kerry stands up in Paris and blurts out that killing cartoonists for drawing something you disapprove of has a "legitimacy" or "rationale". If you don't believe in free speech for climate deniers or homophobes, why would you believe in it for Charlie Hebdo? Sure, you might be a little squeamish about gunning them all down in cold blood - but all you're doing is quibbling over the penalty: fines for trans apostates, prison for climate apostates, death for Islamic apostates. They're merely different points on the same continuum.

Gog; years ago I had a co-worker who was a holier-than-thou vegan and a cat keeper.
She only feed cooked white rice, and the occasional steamed sweet potato, to her cat. The poor thing eventually became very ill.
That ding-bat crazy lady never understood why. My cat always loved her rice." She would claim. He would gobble down every last grain." Yea, of course, the cat gobbled down every last grain - she was starving the thing!
But, there was a happy ending. The vet explained to her that cats are, by their nature, obligated to eat meat. It is NOT optional; they need meat. Fortunately, she wasn't all too crazy as she did listen to the vet and started to feed regular canned cat food to her "poor kitty."
But, still, that it took an emergency trip to the vet with her cat almost dying to get her to smarten up is pitiful. She was college educated too!
